Had some lunch here with my motorcycle buddy. Simple but nice place to have something to eat. They didn’t have the pulled pork or chili beef anymore so we ordered something else. And what we ordered was pretty good. So I would return to this place again.
This is our third visit to Aj’s recently for breakfast and brunch, which offers a wide variety of dishes on their menu.
Food is delicious and served by friendly staff.
Good to know that they are also dog friendly too, so we’ll take our pooch with us next time we come.
Diolch! Helen & Tribe
It was not the most welcoming place I've ever eaten, but the food was tasty, and plenty of it. Apart from the soup.
The service was good. We didn't have to wait too long for the food.
I didn't get a chance to take photos of the food because we were hungry, so it vanished quite quickly!
The burrito was hot and well filled, the loaded fries with pulled pork was fabulous, apparently, and some of the best loaded fries that my adult son had ever eaten.
The soup, however, was a major disappointment,
I had the soup of the day, which was tomato and pesto.
It was like someone had opened a tin of chopped tomatoes and thrown a big dollop of pesto in it. It was bland, tasted of tinned tomato, and the accompanying bread with it was just a generic medium slice of white bread with thick margarine on it. It was not even a whole slice. It was half! It's not worth the money.
Other than the soup, the food filled a hunger gap and was good value for money.
Not the most welcoming of places to eat and whilst the food was tasty, both mine and my son's lunch had strips of paper in the brie!
Raised it with a member of staff and they refunded it, but was disappointing to have found it in the sandwiches in the first place.
Great service, tasty food at reasonable prices
If you're looking to sample something different than the usual café fare, then you should try this place. There is more seating out of sight, so don't be put off by the size of the café.
AJ's offers much more than what the name advertises, including a range of breakfast & lunch delights, so you'll be spoilt for choice.
We called in during the afternoon, looking for some tasty treats for my daughter's birthday. Choosing between crepes or waffles though, was not an easy decision to make as everything on the menu sounded so lush.
There were 4 of us & 3 opted for waffles. Although they were all delicious, my only bug bare was, at nearly £6 a waffle, I found them a tad expensive. I like to get my money's worth & didn't feel that this time I had.
I do recommend you try for yourself though, maybe you'll think differently. ????♀️
Great service, Great staff, Great food and Great location. Food was delicious and service was exceptional. Even my dog was thrilled. AJ's is a little hidden gem in the centre of town. I would highly recommend you visit. Support our local community.
We popped into AJ’s on a trip into Brecon and were definitely pleased with our visit.
We were a group of 5, but still got our food and drinks really speedy. Lovely, friendly staff served us and we had a nice chat with them. Really nice atmosphere.
The coffee was excellent! Everyone in our group enjoyed their food. Would definitely return when I’m back in the area to try out other bits on the menu
