Our Hospital of Choice, under the care of the Diabetes Team who are absolutely incredible.
Also on the occasions were Emergency Treatment has been required, we have been seen promptly and the staff have been nothing short of Amazing!! A huge credit to the NHS!
I have had the misfortune to use Airedale quite a bit over the recent years, both as a patient myself and also as a mother to a young child, and I can not fault the staff. Aside from one occasion when the doctor was dismissive of my concerns about my young daughter, the professionalism and friendliness of the staff has been amazing.
They are clearly under pressure, the waiting times can be horrendous, which is not their fault (and is not contributing to this star review) but they have always maintained a cheerfulness despite being overworked. I have been in A&E, the Acute Assessment Ward, Minor Injuries, several different wards in the hospital, had CT and MRI scans, and had two orthopaedic operations. From the nurses, health support workers, physios, doctors and consultants, catering, cleaning, porters, everyone has been lovely.
The only not great experience I had was on the maternity ward where some of my concerns were dismissed, however this has been addressed (and was partly due to lack of staff).
I was recently in ward 9 orthopaedics following a fall and hip fracture requiring surgery and pining. I have had outstanding care from the ambulance/paramedics who picked me up from bottom of my stairs to A&E.,to the Doctors, consultants, Nurses Health care assistants all in A&E were gentle and caring however busy ( 4 Ambulances arrived together). Onto the ward ready for surgery following morning. Following this totally bedbound then up for physio daily. Physios play a large part of recovery and rehabilitation. They are hard working and attentive. I spent 2weeks in ward 9 moving around different beds. I met some lovely patients .my opinion of Airedale is that all staff from the top to the bottom are irreplaceable and could not provide better care if private.the NHS needs to be preserved and funded correctly it is our biggest asset and the staff within it.
Yes it’s been a 11 hour wait in A&E but this isn’t my issue. Staff are doing their best with what they have. A&E is so dirty. Holes in the floor from old seats that have been removed. How this gets past infection control I don’t know. No one comes to freshen the place up. Don’t get me started on the toilets. This is a hospital and it’s poor. Cleaning is the basics at a hospital.
After a bad experience with 111 and another hospital, it’s nice to know the NHS is completely dead. Staff are great, friendly and personable, don’t make you feel like a burden: straight in, tests done, sent home with diagnosis, all in less than 5 hours. Fantastic service.
Took over an hour to be seen. Once seen the nurse could not get rid of me quicker. It felt like I was trespassing even though I had a booked appointment. Every time I spoke I got cut off, none of my questions was answered and my ankle was looked at for a few seconds. She then thanked me and walked out whilst I was just laying on the bed. That was the last I saw her, she literally walked out and said go to a GP. I will be happy to provide details of the nurse. My name is Ethan Harvey and I was seen less than 1 hour ago.
Took my little boy in for a dental appointment, the staff were absolutely amazing from start to finish, so supportive and kind. I will never forget the care and kindness that was given to my little boy and us! Thankyou so much to all the staff in the dales suite!
If I could give 0 stars I would, my sister went in to a&e last night due to her temperature fluctuating and I’m absolutely disgusted with the way a nurse treated her! When she first went in nurse said “take your coat off you’re not helping yourself” sister explained her temperature is fluctuating & she said “still” then sister told her she’s sensitive to medication & nurse thought she was making it up. Before my sister left early hours in the morning the same nurse made a rude snarky comment “would you like a robe for your fever” absolutely vile and horrendous behaviour.
