I’ve parked here for almost twenty years on a fairly regular basis. I always feel safe parking my vehicle and walking into and out of the garage. There is typically a security guard posted at the main walkway to the hospital. If not, a cashier is stationed at the exit booth. Appears security cameras are posted throughout the garage. There are elevators that allow for street level pedestrian exiting. The spots are tight and my various cars over the years have sustained a few nicks and dings. I have found that the roof top has the most spacious availability if you are truly worried about doors being swung into your car. Overall, the price is on par with most of the other parking options in the area. I would recommend for anyone looking for a reliable and affordable parking option for Yale New Haven Hospital.
It's OK and perfect if you work at Yale location wise, BUT it's so expensive! I was there for 15mins and had to pay almost $5. Worked there for 1 shift and had to pay more than $20. Like that's crazy expensive for a parking lot.
The garage is safe to park and never had any problems that way but when the pandemic happened, the rates changed and it's $1 an hour for patients and visitors up to 7 hours, then it's $20 and no validation for parking for surgery patients, which they use to do. Now there is also construction work being done on the garage and I feel the price change is just to have the work done on the patients dime. I'm okay with paying a fair price for parking but if how long I'm there is out of my control, then parking should be validated to a fair price.
It is a bit cramped but better than some and easy to get to the hospital.
When you visit YNHH it is a convenient spot.
A very strange setup for a garage and kind of confusing. I also feel like if I were to get murdered that this would be the place that it happens in.
Great place to park for YNHH. My car and I have always been safe. Be aware of which side of the garage you're on (first few times you can get all turned around). On one side a level has a tunnel walkway to get to the hospital safe from the elements or having to cross the busy street. There are multiple exits when driving out; one of which leads you straight onto the highway for the 91/95 interchange; It's convenient if you're going that way.
So easy to access from 91 and 95. The highway will dump you right into the garage. The levels are marked in colors and a sport to easily remember where you parked. Look for the AR Garage signs off of exit 1. (keep left) and then follow the signs in.
