The only reason they received a 3 for service is because they’re not bilingual. It’s hard to communicate, I wanted hard shells and received corn. I do understand that’s how you know the food will be good and authentic. These tacos are the best in Iowa city. I will be back!!
People here are so rude when you try to talk to them or ask them how they”re doing. They also lie when you ask them if they have a certain food item and they do have it on certain days. I come in to shop with them for years and tired of the mistreatment. I called in today and asked a question about a price before driving up there and the girl hung up on me. I won”t be spending my money here again.
Overcharged for veggie burrito clearly listed on menu price. Was charged double. Also there was an upcharge for the sandwich we got. The additional charge was not on the menu. Listed as 4.99 paid about 9.89.
Insanely friendly. Incredible food. Affordable prices. There's not one thing I can't praise about this shop. If you like Mexican sodas, drinks, or juices they have them all. I highly recommend the pombazos, it's a torta sandwich on steroids

Is there a different location everyone was talking about? Where do you park? What door do you use? Wasn't sure if it was open. Some nice looking pastries when I went inside but it seemed like no one was there at all. No employees or customers.
I stopped to pick up some piloncillo and cinnamon. They had both. Also picked up some cookies from the bakery, and they were good. Everyone was nice. No English the day of my visit, but it wasn't a problem.
I walked in early in the morning and I had to greet the employee first. We continued to grab our stuff and then I had to let her know we were ready and said “I’ll be right there.” During that time another customer walked in to send money after we were ready and the cashier proceeded to help them first after I’ve been waiting to check out. She then told me to take the stuff out the basket as if I’m getting paid for doing her job and waiting.
Honestly I’ve never been treated so bad before. I’m also super disappointed in the customer service. I wasn’t rude at all but I was visibly upset and the cashier just didn’t care. The customer service needs to be worked on.
I am also a bilingual Mexican female so this happened in Spanish.
