Thee whole entire staff is amazing. Very kind polite. I’ve been getting my kids hair and my hair braided by abbe since she was on ash street. and we followed her to her own shop on Sagamon.. lele Sandra Sara and thee entire team are very gifted.. we all thank you so much…
The best African hair braiding experience I’ve ever had. Beautiful women inside and out. I felt like I was around family. They are very personable. Our conversations were endless. And my hair was flawless. I definitely will be back!!
I got knotless box braids from Abbe, and lemme just say they look AMAZING! The tension was not as bad as I expected, and I started getting compliments from the minute I left the shop till now, 6 weeks later! The braids have lasted amazing and I think I’ll be able to keep them in atleast another week or two. I can’t wait to go back and get them done again soon!! The best place for knotless braids in Springfield hands down.
Cons: I wanted to find someplace somewhat local and I was excited at the chance to support African businesses. My appointment was for 8:30am and the lady was 40 minutes late providing, “I overslept” as her excuse without an apology. Throughout the appointment they continued to eat, talk, and text which didn’t bother me, but they weren’t multitasking so it took longer than expected. Additionally, I laid my edges before the appointment and repeatedly told them I didn’t want my edges braided, but they braided my edges! The braids are neat, but hecking tight, and my edges are in Heaven now rip. It was $160 I thought it should have been less considering they had no valid reason to be late and they disregarded my wishes to leave my edges out.
Pros: very nice staff ( very distracted though), neat braids ( very tight though), multiple people working on hair ( however staff not great at multitasking).
I had both my daughters hair braided here February 27th. They charged me $180 each for styles that should be $150. It was coming out by March 3rd. When I took her back to show them Abbe was not there. The lady that I spoke to was very rude and said that this never happened before and that my daughter doesn’t take care of her hair.
(I told her that she had her hair tied up every night)...
I’m sorry but I have been taking my kids to Africans and other branders to get their hair done since they were very small.Several people in my family braid.
I have never had this happen before. My other daughters hair lasted until today only bc we had to braid some of them over. I will not be going back. Our braids didn’t even last 2 weeks. The shop is clean and Abbe is nice but if she is not able to braid your hair please don’t go.
Very nice ladies... they all were extremely pleasant I definitely recommend them. I got knotless braids and I’ve received so many compliments on my hair as soon as I left the braid shop. Great timing as well.
Pros: the braids are neat
Cons: did not put any heat protection before the blow dryed my hair. And didn't blow dry it straight enough to get maximum length.
Pulled and braided my edges when I told them not to.
Took 3 hours to do simple cornrows straight back.
Did way more than I asked for.
Then, charged me double for something I've only ever paid 40 plus tip for.
The ladies in this shop are very nice, and they stay focused on getting your hair done…my hair is cut short and she was able to snatch it all real good and the tension was not that bad…GREAT JOB ABBE
