Amazing food as always! We had today’s special T-bone steak with fries, which was ???? and the octopus and fish stew were great as usual! We were seated next to the door so it was a bit cold when people went in and out, but the staff tried their best to be attentive and closed the door every time people left the door open.
Booked a dinner for 4 of us, our first time in A Torre, what a lovely little place, relaxed atmosphere, nice decor, great food and staff very attentive. We will definitely come back
Lovely little place in Crystal Palace, the food was great and the service so friendly! We had a variety of Portuguese specialties and I found it more refined than the food I had had in Portugal. Highly Recommend!
I had previously given this place a 5. The food is good, especially the Octopus. However, I have a service dog and the third time I went, I decided to make a reservation. I explained I would be bringing her. She had not come with me before. My reservation was confirmed until I explained she would be coming. Suddenly, there were no spaces. I told the owner that I would let others know he was in breach of disability laws. His act was prejudicial and not in line with law or compassion. On this basis I feel no one with special needs or with empathy for others with special needs should EVER eat here.
RE: The owners response. He never offered me an earlier time, that is an abject lie as is that he was squeezing me in. This narrative only happened when I mentioned my service dog. Further, I explained my service dog stays on my lap and not on the ground. He is attempting to cover his illegal and immoral behaviour. Do not believe him!
Had Easter lunch, the starters were good but the mains were average. However, found two pieces of broken glass on my cup after i had drunk the juice, which is incredibly concerning and completely ruined our lunch, really hope i didn't ingest any.
Truly authentic Portuguese restaurant or at least great seafood restaurant with amazing taste! I came here yesterday evening for dinner and although the menu had a bit of seafood starters and main, my wife and I went for some meaty meals like sirloin steak and lamb shank and went for grilled octopus as extra main as it looks pretty beautiful. We were surprised by how juicy the octopus was. Every bite of it is such divine!! The steak was cooked well and really juicy too. Lamb shank was good too. I ended up the night with the homemade chocolate cake and Portuguese custard tart. I must say the tart was lovely and they heated up warm.
My wife left her phone at the restaurant and we realised that after we got home. The owner, Jorge was kind enough to keep it for us to collect them next day. My wife and I decided to come back here travelling from Stratford to Crystal Palace, not a short journey to collect the phone and also dine in for lunch as the food was just superb!! We had white wine this time with some great seafood starters and mains. We ordered the grilled octopus again and we were mind blown by the size of the dish! Absolutely fantastic!! I would definitely recommend everyone to give this restaurant a try. They do bake the Portuguese tart fresh daily, based on what I could see the tray by the entrance. It’s a local family run restaurant located around Crystal Palace. You may have to call to book a table although my wife and I were quite lucky to get a table for 2 during both lunch and dinner time! ???? Greatly recommended 10/10 for this! The price of this restaurant is average for London standards in fact cheaper than what I would eat in central London.
Great coffee and delicious Portuguese custard tart - just as good as the ones sold in Lisbon.
Beautiful, cozy place. The food is very, very tasty me and my husband almost forgot we are in London for the whole time, the ambience is lovely. The staff was very friendly and helpfull. I leave here some food snaps, shame you can not smell and taste it ????????
