The best Ethiopean place in Geneva. The food was freshly made, the service was flawless. Be warned: the portions are huge. The two of us ordered the Zara Special, which is advertised as for one person, but we got perfectly full from it. The wine was pretty good too, and fairly priced.
Will come back again!
authentic ethiopian/eritrean cuisine, at fair prices (by swiss/geneva standards, of course). very friendly owner. we were very happy to happen to find it near our holiday appartment.
Its an ideal restaurant if you want to try a different type of food - euthopian and a different eating experience of sharing food in one basket. No cutleries use your fingers. The food is a lot and plenty of variety, so order with care. The place has simple and eye catchy decorations. No loud music ideal for those who like a good chatter while enjoying your meal. Its a small restaurant so a big group may need to call to make preparations of joining the tables.
Great food despite a less than welcoming environment. Definitely not a place where they care if you come in or not (usually men in the back watch tv without much interest) but the food is delicious!!
Mauvaise cuisinière Il faut répéter 10 fois et jamais de sourire, elle tire tjrs la gueule au blanc,, pour un payant supplément de riz ou injera , à chaque fois ou pour une portion de légumes, comme si c'était la première fois je suis régulier...en plus elle était trop fainéante, pour une injera en supplément payant elle m'a aussi fait plein d'histoires..comme tjrs sans raison j'ai du laisser tomber, ,, et là c'est la seule fois où elle a été rapide à comprendre et à répondre pour me dire que elle était très motivée que je l'explique sur commentaire...

I had a great experience here! Not (as) expensive as most restaurants around Geneva, and very good Ethiopian food. Staff was friendly and helpful, food was delicious, and the atmosphere was cool and laid back. I had a fun time watching old men play cards in the back, too. :) All around a lovely dining experience... I would definitely go back again!
Je voulais tester un plat typique de l’Ethiopie, et ai donc décidé d’aller ici avec une amie.
Je n’ai pas été déçu. Le zara royal est excellent, on en a largement assez pour tenir le reste de la journée. Le prix est a 25chf il me semble, ce qui reste abordable pour la quantité servie et la qualité.
Le personnel est charmant et accueillant.
S’il y avait une seule critique négative, ca serait le bruit de la route, mais malheureusement ils n’y sont pour rien.
J’y retournerai tres probablement.
