Sharron was extremely rude, laughed as she answered my queries, seemed very uninterested in the issue and did not help at all after being on hold for an hour. I thankfully was able to get through to someone else the next time I rang who didn’t act like a child when handling issues.

And in 2017 after york hospital A&E turned me away without treatment
The Drs got me a same day appointment and had me in hospital within the hour for an emergency operation for the same condition that killed my brother.
Just been to 199 Acomb Road for flu and COVID jabs. The service couldn't have been better. Staff were friendly, helpful, reassuring, efficient and knowledgeable. I was able to park easily on the road and was in and out of the clinic in less than ten minutes. Many thanks.
Rang up as was told I needed to after going into a practice. Lady on the phone was not interested in speaking to me, seemed distracted speaking to another lady. Was very rude!
I am absolutely terrified of doctors and I rang up today after avoiding the doctors for a long time and when I say the receptionist was understanding and empathetic that isn't even close. This women made me feel heard and took the time to make me feel comfortable about making an appointment I cannot give this receptionist enough credit because this is something I have been avoiding for so long and for someone to have the patience with me to make me feel safe and listen to me so I could take the steps to make an appointment I could not appreciate that more. Thank you so much
I am continually disappointed with the lack of customer service exhibited by York Medical Group. Following numerous previous issues, this time I feel the need to say something;
I collected a repeat prescription today to find that one of my medications was missing. Further investigation revealed that this particular medication is due for review (8 days ago!).
No contact from the surgery regarding a review, they just stop issuing the medication!
So now I have to contact the surgery which in itself is a major event as from previous experience the staff seem to be genetically disposed to avoid answering phones and the website on which I'm supposed to request an appointment (request mind - it's not actually possible to book an appointment) is one of the least intuitive and most difficult systems I've had the misfortune to encounter.
When this same thing happened previously - I'm type 1 diabetic and depend upon insulin which was held pending review - even when I showed up at their front desk, after being on hold for over 20 minutes and driving across York from Huntington, I was told to go away and book (oh, sorry, request, not book) online, it was only after I refused to leave that I got an appointment booked. This was then subsequently cancelled.
Appalling.
It is a great doctors surgery nice friendly staff doctors nurses and reception team.
