Best KPortal Reviews

Food was great! Beautifully plated, very tasty. Friendly Staff, place is clean and cosy. With a better weather I am sure the kids would love the outside playground. Selection of drinks a little poor. Lack of baby change is a big minus unfortunately.
Lovely little country pub was fairly busy when we visited around 2.30 on a Sunday afternoon. Staff very pleasant and friendly. Didn't wait too long for food around 15mins or so and it was worth the wait one of the best Sunday dinners we've had in a while will definitely go back. Only downside was that it was a bit chilly inside.
we came in just for a drink and when chatting to the bar man i mentioned about liking the half carling glasses, he then offered me some and came over with two freshly washed glasses as they don’t serve that beer anymore. honestly so wholesome and just such a lovely thing to do.
What an absolute shame, this pub could be so beautiful but it was dirty & so were the staff, we sat in a room that looked like a 70's social club, it had no atmosphere and the table was so sticky we finished our drinks and left. We did initially want food but then we saw the chef who was very scruffy & slovenly walked around looking very dirty & unkempt.
Well, first time in here for a few years, it's changed hands a few times I think. There are significant improvements. More tables for dining, pool table is gone, there will be a beer garden in the summer, but the play area has gone. Only wanted a light lunch, but menu is not really lunch friendly. Sandwiches work out at 2 for £20 which is a bit steep at lunchtime. Not very busy, but that's not too surprising considering the options close by. Timothy Taylors Landlord on draft, great pint. There is plenty of parking and it is dog and family friendly. Possibly not fair doing a review based on a midweek lunch trip, but dinner won't be happening tonight, I couldn't finish mine, though Cajun Chicken sandwich was lovely, and Steak and onion was 'nice'. I would come here again for dinner, but not for lunch. I judge restaurant and pub food based on whether I could do better at home, and on this occasion, yes, I could.
What a find! My husband found this place whilst looking for somewhere where we could go for a few drinks and park the motorhome overnight.
As the owners of 2 dogs, we have been to many 'dog friendly' establishments, but NEVER one as welcoming as this. From the moment we entered, our boy was thoroughly welcomed. Helen the owner, was not only knowledgeable about dogs ( having a dog walking business herself) but spent a good amount of time ensuring he was comfortable making it a relaxing evening for all.
They have a big garden although we didn't use it and a beautiful roaring fire- perfect for this time of year.
Don't like dogs, don't worry, there was plenty of seating to enable you to spend time at a distance if you wished.
I enjoyed the fish and chips, and my husband the steak burger. Both meals were home cooked, tasty, and value for money .
I can't recommend this place enough. The staff and locals made us feel so welcome and we can't wait to return.
What a lovely pub to visit. The food was excellent and very flavoursome. The staff were lovely and very attentive. Highly recommend a visit if your about this way. 5 stars
Visited early Feb....never again...it was shocking....we were the only 2 in the pub at 1pm. It was so cold even the 2 staff had coats on. We ordered fish & chips and the fish had that much grease in it .. it soaked through all the chips. We still don't know why we didn't just walk out. Live and learn !!!!!
