overall a good vibe and a cool space for local shows. drinks aren’t too expensive and the outdoor area was very nice as well
I live in town and never had an issue with the place until my last 2 visits- my bill was wrong both times. They never provided an itemized receipt either time. The first time it was a busy Saturday night and so I just paid double what I had expected to pay. The next time my bill was also far more than I expected yet again, but it was quieter and I inquired. The bartender charged me for my friends shot she had before I even got there - no problem, mistakes are made and can be fixed… except this guy made literally zero effort to fix it. He shrugged and said I could figure it out with my friend?????? Wow. I assume they are just double charging people and hoping to get away with it. Even then, the price discrepancy was still too big to be for just a shot. I won’t be spending any more money here. Lazy and unprofessional. Also the food menu is incorrect and says the food comes with sides they don’t have anymore per this bartender- when he asks if you want fries instead he doesn’t specify there is an extra charge on top of that even though you aren’t even getting the side the menu states…. There are way too many places in town that far exceed this lame excuse of a bar. I organize a lot of professional events for my company headquartered in central NJ and will make sure to cross this place off my list going forward.
Walked in on a nice Sunday and sat at the bar. We ordered a wonder burger and BLT. Food was great. Cool place
Clean, simple, and intimate spot to see a show. The sound was great. We really enjoyed ourselves. Would definitely go back. Did not eat food here. The bar service was quick and cheerful.
Just went in for a drink and a couple of appetizers. Guy behind the T-shirt stand told us to sit outside if we like but to order food from the bar but since it’s off season we have to go back and forth to get it outside. Totally understandable. We order through very very slow service, even though it wasn’t busy, and everyone behind the bar was just walking around aimlessly. We bring everything outside and then security walks by telling everyone they have to leave in 10 minutes because there’s a show starting at 7 and they need to rehearse and don’t want anyone there. We had food and drinks to chug so we can leave. Unprofessional…
Great experience. Friendliest people working the doors at the outside dog park area and the bar indoors. The place is magical and our dog loved it so much ???? we can't wait to go back again.
The history of wonder Bar,with tillie in full splendor makes bands playing legendary. Cosmic Jerry played rare songs ,beautiful night
I have loved this venue for 30 + years. I was there to see the Soul Cruisers recently, came early, stood in line to get in, and possibly get a place to sit. To my dismay, all tables had "reserved" on them. All seats at the bar facing the stage were "reserved".....we were amoung the first 10 people to enter the bar once the doors opened. In the past, at least if I came early I could grab a seat. The odds were stacked against us .....the seats were already "reserved"!!! All of the tables and 1/4 of the seats at the bar, all "reserved". To add insult to injury, at the end of the night, two of the tables weren't even occupied! I am very grateful that a management person did offer us a table in the back of the bar. I was made to understand that I should accept that I bought into a "standing room only ticket". This has always been the case, but I have never been up against odds like this. I was told, next time I should pay to reserve a table. BTW, there is no policy to reserve a table. Again 30 years of coming to this iconic haven....meaning, I am no spring chicken and standing is an issue. But it was the Soul Cruisers!!! All I can say is I am very disappointed! In a time when disrespect and despair is at an all time high, another true iconic comfort has failed a loyal patron!! Do better, Wonder Bar!!!
