I arrived and ordered vegetable chow mein, king prawns sezchuan, king prawns satay, sweet and sour vegetables, large egg fried rice, spring rolls and prawn crackers. All less than forty quid and cooked in about 15 minutes. It was delicious too. The couple who run this business have been going for many years. They are so friendly and always helpful.
With ingredients that are freshly cooked for you in no time, this must be about the best in town and beyond.
5* Wok 2 Yip is the only Chinese I will go to - Nowhere else compares!! Tonight we had the tofu Katsu rice, sweet and sour tofu, tofu in black bean sauce, chilli and garlic vegetables, and spring rolls. I would highly recommend the tofu dishes!!!

For all that the food was lovely, this place does not take cards and is cash only. I didn't have enough cash on me (short by £2) so I had to get extra out at a local ATM. However.. only had my credit card with me and cash withdrawals on credit cards really mess with your credit score!! This place really should either invest in a card machine or put a clear sign in the window (or advise when calling to place an order) that it is cash only! NOT what I expect or accept in this day and age!
Definitely a must go. Owners are the kindest folk and a welcome face for this international student living abroad. I've always had a hole in my heart since coming to study in the UK, but the food here helps fill that void more and more.
We found this place after moving to the area and haven't tried to find anywhere else. The food is absolutely delicious.. the Singapore Fried Rice is the best i have ever had. Another bonus is the open kitchen so you can see what the chef is doing :) the owners are lovely and always remember us.. would happily give it 6 out of 5!
Wok 2 Yip seems to be a breath of fresh air. First time at Wok 2 Yip and was recommended by a vegan website.
Walked through the door and was welcomed by an exceptionally friendly lady. Explained I was vegan and she couldn't be more helpful.
The food was very tasty and flavoursome, like from a restaurant. The crispy tofu was to die for, and lots of it. Portions were great, with some left over for lunch the next day. The mushroom fried rice with no egg was really tasty, and the chilli, salt and pepper chips were lush.
I'll definitely be returning to Wok 2 Yip, to experience the other choices.
Absolutely bland , will never order again and the price is unbelievable, for what you get , would not recommend the special fried rice either , there is nothing special about it , 3 tiny bits of meat 2 tiny prawns and no sauce so really rice
