This place most definitely has the best coffee in the area. As another review said, it is London prices but it is worth it. Most importantly, it is consistent. I have had many many coffees here made by different people and they have all been, without exception, superb, unlike more hit and miss neighboring cafes. I never had a sandwich here but the cakes and biscuits are generally fantastic but the prices are pretty high for them, which is a shame or I would have them more often.
It's hard to find a decent coffee shop in this neck of the woods and 'with jam and bread' is one of the better ones. The quality of a flat white depends on the barista you get - they use Volcano brand here and on most occasions the flat white is blistering hot. Nevertheless, it is the closest I'll get to a flat white in the area. Sandwiches and cakes are made in house; the sandwiches aren't going to knock your socks off but they're not bad. I did like the lemon drizzle cake and walnut brownie. The ambience is calm and relaxing and the decor is clean and unfussy. At the back there is a small art gallery. This is a great place to come to relax.
Bit of a desert for nice cafes round here so was looking forward to trying this. However was disappointed by my measly little toastie with a pathetic sprinkling of rocket on the side. Barely touched the sides. If bread and sandwiches is a key part of your offer, they need to be better than this to attract me back.
Excellent flat white. Small range of freshly made soup, sandwiches, pastries and home made cakes. Not cheap, but very pleasant ambience, with a gallery of artwork for sale by local artists. Wheelchair accessible toilets. Gluten free carrot cake. Fentimanns, Owlet juice, St pelligrino. Range of tea.
