What a place! We were drawn in by the window, and I have to say we weren't disappointed, and I can't believe someone has tried to compare this place with greggs, absolute worlds apart, you get what you pay for! Clearly all freshly made by a competent Baker and beautifully presented, top notch cakes (didn't try the bread), will definitely be back!
We stopped by Wild Dough while visiting Ayr and we’re blown away by how good the pastries were. We had the plum cake, the rhubarb cake and the sticky toffee pudding loaf and they were all delicious. The service was amazing, and there were lots of tasty samples. We went on Saturday and the cakes were all half off which was lovely. Highly recommend :)
Amazing cakes - the basque cheesecake is especially delicious. Lovely atmosphere and a really friendly service!
Good to see local businesses opening up and doing well, however my only let down was that it cost me £14.50p For one medium sized sour dough and loaf, 2 snowballs and 1 scotch pie. The loaf itself was around £5.90 I believe, that means the other £8. 10 pence was for 2 snowballs and 1 pie you can buy a pack of 4 snow balls for around about £2. 30 pence and a scotch pie for £2 pounds from Greggs The comparison may be inconsequential to some , but those prices could put you out of business, I nearly fell over when I aksed them. I do prefer to back small businesses but those prices are quite high in my opinion for such items.
my wife popped in for a few treats for us and what a find. It's a little gem. Gorgeous smells and beautiful bread and cakes. To see the dough being kneeded and waiting to go in oven. WoW. Lovely lady too' very kind. And the goods are Scrummy!!!
Stopped here on the way past, drawn in by the pasties and bread displayed in the window. Tried a loaf, a sausage roll and an Ayrshire pasty. Normally I don’t go much for pastry, but the standout here was the Ayrshire pasty and instead of eating half and giving the rest to my partner, I scoffed the whole thing, pastry included! Made a return visit for more pasties and another loaf.
Only disappointment was that there are displays of ficelles in the window but none are fresh.
Tip, they sell unsold loaves the next day at half price so it you mainly want it for baking or toasting, it’s a steal!
Lots of unusual things, but expensive, a pasty, an empire biscuit ( albeit a fancy one ) & a cherry scone cost £9, the pasty was okay but not very big & coming from Cornwall I am a bit of an expert, the empire biscuit was nice & the scone was a wee bit stale so all in all not the best. would liked to have tried their sourdough bread but was reluctant as I have never had any before & no doubt it would have been costly too, a few samples would have helped but sadly none on offer.
One of the only shops where you see people starring at the delicious cakes and freshly backed bread through the window. Until the temptation becomes too much and I e bu one they all go in to purchase some goodness.
Clearly it’s highly recommended, all
Baked goods are amazing.
