Lovely little find after the road I was heading for was closed. Upon arrival, I was greeted by a lovely lady behind the bar. I was famished, so I asked if food was being served. The kitchen had closed 20 mins before I arrived. However, she asked what I wanted, which was bread and olives. Nothing was too much trouble, and within 10 mins, it arrived. I sat next to the log burner whilst working and munching away. This is a lovely pub, and I look forward to popping in again when I'm next in the area
Nice friendly pub, very clean and tidy. The staff were lovely, very welcoming and attentive. We had lunch with some friends. They seemed satisfied with their meal, but mine was at the best, average. I had sausage and mash, the vegetables served with the meal were awful, as was the mashed potato. As this is the staple of any pub menu, it still amazes me that some places can't manage to get it right. Maybe next time.
Sunday lunch today was great. Its so good to see this pub back on its feet. It had a bit of a blip after Gavin Heather and Sarah sold up. However 18 months on its new, new owners have turned it round and made it fabulous again. Great to have our 'local' back in good shape!!!! Great food, great staff - very happy ????
Under new mgmt and how amazing they are. Great range of beers and wines, just hired a new chef who will further extend the menu but food already great. A warm welcome awaits. Ignore any reviews from more than a month ago, everything now has been fixed up under the new leaseholder.
Really nice spot for a lunch and a pint in the sun. We ate from the lunch special menu, but were not offered the full menu, and had some really nice garlic mushroom starters. They have a good selection of beers and ciders too. It's a classic pub setting and great to visit
So delighted that The White Horse Inn has reopened and is under new management. Lovely welcome from friendly publican and bar staff. Warm, congenial and open all day. Good selection of ale. Looking forward to coming to to eat in our lovely local.
The pub itself is lovely, however the food wasn’t the greatest unfortunately. We’ve been going for years and, although we were a big group, the veg was basically veg that had been unfrozen and not cooked properly and the meat wasn’t very good.
The desserts weren’t great either. The one thing that was delicious was the gluten free nut roast! We definitely have that again! Overall, we were a bit disappointed as this was our family Christmas meal!
Despite this, the staff was great and made it the best they could! Hospitality 10/10!
Four of us met for dinner and drinks last Saturday evening. It was delicious food, really well cooked (those whitebait were to die for!) and nicely presented too. A cosy pub with a good selection of beers/drinks and service with a smile. Definitely going back!
