We visited here on 9/6/21 and had one of the best pub meals in a long time. The staff were incredibly friendly and attentive and the service was quick. The portions were huge, and everything tasted fresh and hot. Good selection of drinks as well - highly recommend.
Kendal Weekend - Feb '24 - a quiet Sunday night. Strongbow and a Cumbria Way (which was on the turn) Friendly, good service, bum scratches for Archie. Dog friendly!
Both got food poisoning. It was our only food yesterday and today were spending in agonising stomack pain and other unpleasant things. Wouldn't dare to go again. Sticky floors and tables were alarming, but it was too late to run ( we had ordered and paid for food) when my partner came back from toilets and told how dirty and smelly they are, also right next to the kitchen, not separated by 2 doors as food hygiene requieres. Staff was very pleasant and welcoming. Shame the hygiene is questionable. Also place is dark and sad with most lights not working. I have a perfect vision and struggled to see my food it was that dark. Someone who needs glasses should bring a flash light with them. Very good prices, cant beat a 8pound burger, but sadly we wouldn't go agaun just because of getting illness I couldn't bring myself to eat there again.
Nice pub in Kendall, with friendly team and quick service too. Good home cooked food available and a wide selection of drinks; pool table and live sports available to pass the time too. Outside seating which would be nice in Summer and dog friendly which was a bonus on this particular visit!
Really enjoyed watching a good selection on sport.

Fab wee find up an unexpected lane, great atmosphere and lovely staff, very welcoming and cheerful. Security guy Steve was chatty too while he had a moment. Didn't have any food so can't comment. Will defo return again if in Kendal :)
I love real ales. On my first visit to this pub I was informed that due to technical problems no real ales were available .
The staff were very apologetic and I think I would have enjoyed a drink or two if the real ales were available. The premises looked good . Let's hope my next visit will be better .
Quiet evening and not very busy but it was midweek and out of the tourist season. Clena, well presented bar with friendly staff. Entrance to bar is through a picturesque alleway, nicely lit with outdoor seating.
