N.Whelan, best solicitor in Angus/Dundee area, have stuck with him for 20 years, firstly for Boyles before he took over Arbroath office & started on his own. A+ criminal defence, excels in many areas of the law, goes above & beyond for his clients. Be clear you only want to deal with Nick, yes he is a busy man but I have personally made the mistake of assuming the same level of professionalism would be forthcoming from his aid, this is far from the truth. The other is unable to remain impartial & not let personal biases interfere. I have personally been victim to "accidental blunders" designed to highlight certain things at opportune times, in order to weaken your position in court, it is clear to me that the frequency of these "blunders" is no accident, that taken into account with the complete unwillingness to fight your corner properly, choosing to say very little in defence, particularly when making motions for bail. That in combination with the obvious enjoyment displayed when giving bad news and the complete lack of effort made forces me to warn that you do not want anyone but Nick dealing with your trial and any diets or bail hearings!! This lady holds a grudge & would be more suited to a prosecutor position in my opinion, I have never been sentenced to prison but have been remanded several times(every time after being represented by her) I accept this as my own fault but you do NOT expect your legal rep to exacerbate the situation and be completely unwilling to try anything you suggest, even refuse to cite your own words in court! reasoning that she will not say something if its not true, without checking if it is or not!! Shame as it tarnishes the record of the best solicitor in Angus and has put many people off. That said 20 years of using the same solicitor & i have never served time, so thank you Nick!! reception staff are polite & friendly & have good knowledge of current cases and court and legal procedure. Highly recommend, you wont get a better, sharper and smarter defence lawyer than Mr whelan. A++++
Nick Whelan is a fantastic lawyer, without a doubt, once in the courtroom, he transforms into a completely different person who will defend you from the horrible lies that come your way.
Be honest with him and don't leave anything out, including any evidence you have for him.

Uncaring - needed a solicitor to help with documents relating to a property, receptionist- “ He’s in court everyday” wouldn’t use for the big things when they don’t help with the small.
