Decent parking lot with approx 15 parking spaces. However, people do park by the side of the road (on the grass) when the lot fills up.
Go early as the lot fills up fast esp on weekends, we did not see any bathrooms though!
Love this hike! It's a little over a mile for the total hike but the view at the top is AMAZING! Just know you shoot straight up the hill and then walk it back down to the bottom for the hike. There aren't many parking spaces but everyone always parks in the grass off the shoulder too if you need a spot.
It's a parking lot, all right! There are not a ton of spots, but there's plenty of street parking, so it's not a huge deal.
The trail is well-marked and easily accessible.
About20-30 minutes to the overlook. Usually lots of parking. It’s steep and I’m a seasoned hiker.
Nice length (mile and a half?) hike is a good workout. Trail is steep in some places but footing is consistently good. Saw Piliated Woodpeckers on the way up and a vulture on top. Last section is a series of switchbacks until the final 0.2 mile section to the overlook.
Interesting geology is evident on the way, finally becoming stratified slate near the top.
Very nice little side hike is available going the other way along the stream heading toward the viaduct. Level with some nice overlooks of a very pretty mountain Brook.
Honestly probably fits around 15-20 cars and weverton is among the most popular trails here. Recommend goin early during a weekend or during a weekday.
Nice hike with great view. It took us a minute to figure out the trail was a bit down the road from the parking lot but we are novice hikers.
There is a bit of an incline with the trail winding back and forth. Once you reach the top of the trail there's a post directing you left to the Appalachian Trail and right to the cliff edge. The views are spectacular.
