Best KPortal Reviews

Nowhere near as bad as reviews make it out to be. I was very hesitant to go after reading reviews but thought it couldn't be that bad. Many, many bare spots in the fairways. Rough definetely needs to be mowed. But the actual fairway really isn't that bad. Greens are same way, not that bad. No bumps or bare spots.
if you go there expecting private course quality you'll quit after 2 holes. If you go expecting municipal level then you'll be happy at the price they charge. Worth $35 at most on full rack rate and that's what they charge.
I recently moved to Westport and played the course for the first time this weekend with my nephew who was visiting from out of state. We both agreed this course has a 5 star layout. The elevation changes, doglegs on most holes, interesting blind landings and some terrific views from tee boxes and fairways make it a beautiful course. Unfortunately it is in 1 star condition. The tee boxes are bare to the point that it is hard to find a level spot with grass to tee up on. The fairways have bare spots mixed with patches of clover and other weeds that can hide your ball in the middle of the fairway. The greens weren’t bad but the fringe was mostly weeds or poanna grass that made it impossible to putt through. Unfortunately the shape of the course is dictating the way some players treat it. I saw people driving their carts onto the tee boxes then running straight down the hole, even on the par 3s which are cart path only. People don’t sand their divots and leave their broken tees on the tee box rather than throwing in the trash. See my second pic and look closely and you will see one of the worse examples I saw during our round. I didn’t see a ranger on the course through my whole round, so it’s the Wild West out there. I talked to one of the employees after my round and he mentioned there is a new superintendent who wants to make improvements. I hope this is true and he can turn this course around. I’ve talked to several people who told me this used to be the hidden secret gem of the area until a developer bought it with intentions of bulldozing the course and building houses, which apparently fell through. Shame on him for letting it go to hell just to spite whoever blocked his plans. Hopefully someone else can buy the course and bring it back to its former glory.
Loved the layout, needs some maintenance. Lots of bare spots with no grass, fairways a mix of who knows what, tee boxes rum from grass to sand. Greens not bad, super grainy, but lots of poanua in them. $35 green fee, good time with friends, but if you don't like to improvise, overcome and adapt, this is not the course for you. Staff super friendly and very nice. Once some $ is put into the course it will be a real good time.
course is in horrible condition. weeds 18 inches high. Fairways not cut. Greens sanded but not punched. cart paths undriveable. 50$ green fees are a joke. locals talk about course taking all the money and spending nothing on repairs. DO NOT WASTE YOUR TIME OR MONEY.
If I could do negative 5 stars I would. First round of golf ever so I decided to go out with a couple of friends. We are all 17-18 years old and our stereotype seems to play a role in this. We knew we would be taking longer than others so on the very first hole we let a kind group of people go through and we waited to play behind them. As we were just SITTING there, someone from the clubhouse comes up accusing us of screeching the brakes and did not let us explain how we have just been sitting there for like 20 minutes. He told us that was our last warning and if he hears anything else, we are banned and kicked out of our round. Skip ahead to hole 8 (we paid for a whole 18 holes), the same guy is sitting at the entrance of the tee box and tells us to "'come to the clubhouse, you guys are done." Given we had not done anything wrong, we are all so confused. He asked for our drivers licenses so I kindly give him mine and he takes it to the back without explaining at all what he is doing with it. This is when the kind people we let play through come in and start vouching for us that we have done absolutely nothing wrong and we are some of the nicest teenagers they have seen on a golfcourse. The worker then responds with something like "I have seen these guys before, they dont mean any good," which is hilarious to me because I have NEVER played an actual round of golf before, so we knew he was lying to them to make himself sound correct. He then proceeds to get all mad at us questioning him and kicks us out and bans us from the course. I am not angry, I just am disappointed that we did not do anything to disturb any of the other golfers on the course, heck we were even contributing to a kind environment. I also was having a great time with friends until he decided to ruin it all. I know that he knows he is in the wrong and is regretting it now, I hope he gets fired at some point.
Have been playing it awhile but became a member a wk ago. Greens ok , fairways can be a little testy with the clover and the rain. But is a great course to play. Service in clubhouse was great!
This a fairly tight course with numerous holes requiring an iron tee shot. You will be rewarded for playing smart and placing your shots with purpose. The course is a mixture of hills and flats, tree-lined fairways, and not a lot of room for errant tee shots.
The course was in great shape considering all of the rain we’ve had since September (40”+). The pace was great and the staff was friendly.
I heard they had lost a majority of their greens last year and had to redo them. However, you would not have known as almost all of the greens were in pristine condition. They rolled true and were extremely smooth...I was very happy with the greens!
Nice sized putting green/chipping area but no driving range.
Worse corse I've ever played! Had two free 18s, so me and my dad went this morning, will never go back even if its free.
