We usually eat at Wendy's a couple times a week. It's right on the way home from work, and the food is good, if a bit overpriced. The Frosty keytag is nice, though. For a one-time donation, you get a tiny frosty that's just enough for dessert every time you visit. The soda machine is fun, with lots of good flavors, including a couple very tasty cream soda options.
The staff is always pleasant and friendly, and the service after ordering is usually very fast. We can barely get our drinks filled and our food is up already. However, we don't love the dining room. The seating along one side runs all together like everyone sitting there is one big family. The seating down the middle uses stools, which are not handy when you want to take your coat off to eat. The table in front of the "fireplace" is low, like a coffee table. There are only a couple regular booths and, for good reason, they are often taken. The old, classic Wendy's location was laid out a lot better and the building looked like it belonged in a small town, not a large urban metropolis. But all Grand Haven's fast food places have that look now, so it's not just Wendy's.
Overall, it's one of the better fast food options in town. With the higher quality food and the great staff, we can overlook the cost and atmosphere.
Terrible service. Was asked if a 5 minute wait was okay for my order, was asked to pull up and obliged. After waiting for 10 minutes a service member walked out empty handed to inform me that my order was never started. I was running out of time so I became quite irritated and when I expressed my frustration I was told that it wasn’t their fault that their fryer/griller doesn’t listen. At this point I asked how I could be refunded because I would no longer have time to eat as my lunch break was shot and was advised that I would need to drive around back through the drive-thru to get a refund. I went inside and talked to the manager and all that was offered was my money back, no apology. Nothing. I’ll never pull forward at another fast food drive thru again. Once you’re off their clock, you’re no longer a priority.
No one was able to come to the register for 7 minutes for me to order food. After a line person came to the register i ordered three meals. I finally was given cups when another person came to the register. While I was getting my drinks at the pop machine, my order was bagged. I was kindly given a big bag for my order. But while I was driving I opened my Asiago Chicken Club sandwich and there was no bacon on it. I was driving to bring food to my mother and brother. And when I gave my mom's food to her, the four piece chicken nugget order only had three pieces in it. I ordered the food at 3:22 pm. It was not rush hour. I didn't know I would have to open each bag to make sure all ingredients were in my order before I left. It's a shame I need to open my sandwich packages and lift the bun to make sure I got what I paid for, and then also count each nugget in the orders I placed.
Food is always good, but I feel like it's over priced. Always good service. Atmosphere is SMALL. Not a very large place at all. Usually can't get 1 of the 2 booths...have to sit at high top or tables with young grand daughter.
They had run out of BBQ sauce, bacon, orange cream frosties and straws...not sure how that happens. There was inch deep water standing in front of where you get drinks, ketchup and napkins...at least they were friendly
Food was alright, service was awful. None of the workers could figure out how to work the frosty machine, we waited for like 20 minutes just for them to ask if we wanted a chocolate frosty, because their peppermint frosty machine broke down on them, all after a girl, after she took a chair to stand on, used a big spoon, without using gloves, to try and mix it. Atmosphere, and overall vibe of the place was terrible, and felt off, all the workers looked like they wanted to quit, and weren’t very friendly, they kept looking at us rudely. We ordered take out, but ended up dining in because we waited so long.
I ordered the 2 for $6 chicken sandwich and 10 Piece nugget thru the mobile app at 11:30 on a Sunday. The chicken in the sandwich was so tough and/or had been left over from the night before) was so hard on the edges it was like chicken jerky. I gave it to my dog. The 10 piece nugget I order for my dog was the spicy nuggets( which were not ordered). I should have went across the street to Culver’s. Go to holland to Wendy’s instead
Wendy's provided an enjoyable lunch experience. Service was excellent and fast, perfect for our hunger. The food was delicious and hit the spot, making for a satisfying meal. Overall, a great choice for a quick, delicious lunch.
