Doctor asked me whether I'd consider starting X type of medication, when if he bothered to even glance at the record of the patient he was talking to he'd see I've been on that type of medication for 12 years with a current active prescription... Don't bother here if you need to talk about ill mental health, you'll just be told to go and read some books and do research to learn how to make yourself better... Takes 45 minutes (sometimes more if your call gets disconnected before they pick up) to speak to this practice. If you go in person to try and book an appointment they send you away and tell you to phone them. You can only submit NEW requests online, not reply to messages sent to you as they close the request when they reply, so if for example, you submit a request, then the doctor calls you without warning and you miss the call, your only option is to find an hour or more out of your day to sit on the phone and wait for a receptionist to pick up and arrange another call back, which will probably be in another 1-2 weeks.
I brought in a marriage certificate to the Morpeth surgery to update my married name when I also registered my baby daughter at the surgery… Wellway lost my forms and the copy of the certificate. They chased me to come back in with the information again… I did… they refused to accept the certificate this time because my marriage certificate has been (appropriately) corrected by a Registrar due to spelling mistakes made by the vicar. I have successfully obtained a passport in my new name via the passport office, which I had to hand that they refused to accept. Good enough for the passport office but not Wellway?
I have now been refused a blood test which is clinically and necessary ahead of giving birth at home in the next three weeks. My midwife has attempted to advocate for me and had been refused by Wellway.
Absolutely shocking care from start to finish.
Staff is very busy, cannot get a doctor's appointment in time, apps or the website are not working, and critical medication is set up as one-offs.
I really don't know how we got to this point, that we think this is a good NHS service.
The WORST NHS service I have ever used. Can't get through to speak to reception, GP not giving pharmacy prescriptions despite a life long diagnosis, whilst 'on hold' have had the call terminated on more then 5 occasions. I work in the NHS, and places like this cause me embarrassment!
Average wait time on phone is 45 minutes regardless if you ring up when they first open. I do not understand this as before valens took over it was decent and usually waited no more than 10 minutes at most.
The lack of appointments is very frustrating.
Also i have been cut off a fair few times during my 45 minute wait and then have to start the whole process again!
Sometimes the phone is just engaged with no explanation and can last hours.
In the surgery there never seems to be a receptionist available.
The online appointment system is shocking. Waiting a couple days for a reply to get an appointment the week after.
Absolutely ridiculous service being delivered by Valens from 8/2/24.
No telephone appointments it’s an online app before anything is considered a questionnaire is asked … complete foolishness
The Practice is not as good as when we first joined in 2017, mainly because of difficulty in making contact, however recently there appears to have been a slight improvement in the phone system, haven't waited the usual 50 minutes. I am very unhappy at the moment as the best GP at the practice, Dr Anna Khan has left. She was an absolutely a fantastic GP and it is a great loss to the practice. I had several serious health issues in recent years and she dealt with them superbly.
Tried to book an app through NHS app.. as soon as i finished the e-consult, received a texted confirming my next app which was over the phone. The Doctor phoned me and she even booked an app to see me on the same day! Also, doctor asked me to have a blood test, which i did again the same day. Really helpful receptionist, nurses and doctors!!
