The tea and coffee was good and the fresh baked fruit scones very tasty. Nice situation looking over the harbour. Also seems the only place in whitehaven where there are toilets you can use.
Not a brilliant dining experience, my food arrived much later than that of my fellow dinners as the chef had 'forgot' my order. When it did arrive it was the greasiest battered fish I have ever had, which was very disappointing as I always order fish when I'm by the coast as usually of the best place to have it!
Great town museum exploring the history of Whitehaven over the centuries. Also has a whole floor dedicated to a fascinating interactive display about the nuclear industry at nearby Sellafield from the early days of atomic weapons research, civilian nuclear energy and nuclear waste management. Well worth a visit. You get good views of Whitehaven harbour and town from the viewing gallery too.
Wooden tables by settees need good clean food in all joints. Been a few times now staff always seem flustered when they have a few customers in, they never get our order right, once again they "lost" our order. It's not rocket science!! Won't go again
Really nice coffee and superb views
Tables need a good clean. Asked for table to be cleaned. Floor ....I asked for them to clean it. Littered with food. Empty plates on tables stood for 20 minutes.. food nothing special. The staff need to do more.
Lovely home cooked food. Really good coffee and toasties. Kid friendly and really friendly owners. Go there all the time
Apart from the utterly disgraceful Sellafield propaganda floor which has no place in a publicly owned and funded Arts venue it's a great place and getting better. There's still a long way to going on communication, branding and product but really Whitehaven is lucky to have it. At least it's headed ( Sellafield floor aside ) in the right direction.
