Lots of steps to some very senic waterfalls. Very pretty spot, but also crowded. Get a good photo editor to erase strangers from your pics! We went at dusk and it was less crowded. Returned the next day in hopes of rainbows in the sunshine, but did not get lucky. Still a great outing both times.
The parking for the state park is easy. We were there during the non tourist part of the season so there was no fee to park here. The cafe and gift shop opens at 10 am.. the public bathroom was opened when we arrived there.
This place is amazing for hiking!! Very nice trails with a lot of stone steps and bridges!! Great picnic area with nice grills!
This is definitely my favorite state park in the finger lake area. We came here to enjoy the leaves but got amazed by the gorge and waterfalls. The gorge trail is a must-see. You will get wet at times given how fast the water runs but it’s worth it.
Parking is budget-friendly, priced at $10 per car. At the visitor center, you can grab a detailed route map for your exploration. Enjoy your visit! ????????️
This is a great starting point for anyone trying to do the Gorge Trail. We went on a weekday early in the morning so there was no issue parking here. You pay with a card at the meters they have within the lot. Once you pay make sure to leave your ticket on your dashboard. The welcome center and gift shop are right across the street from this lot. They have maps at the welcome center. The shuttle wasn’t running but that’s okay. The gorge trail is a lot of steps and can be challenging because of the water that exists on certain parts of the trail floor. So bring your hiking poles or wear your knee braces in order to be safe while enjoying. Jacob’s ladder is an enormous set of stairs so if you finish at Mile High Point you really aren’t missing out. The Indian Trail and North Rim Trail are the same trail, and is an easier way back to the main, south, or upper entrance depending on where you parked vs. walking back on the gorge trail. Such a beautiful place! Highly recommend!
It's a must do trekking. If you're travelling around this area, surely add this park to your list. Worth.
Beautiful scenic and satisfactory trek.
Definitely worth it. The climb isn’t easy (many stairs), young children and elderly will have trouble with the whole route.
