Best KPortal Reviews

This hotel has a great view of the rowing course nearby. It offers single and twin room only so it is not that really for family trips here.
Please also note that they do not provide hair-dryer here so you need to bring you own one.
We were pretty sceptical after seeing others reviews of this place but were pleasantly surprised by our stay at the campsite. Did a thorough poo check on all toilets, clear. Showers do look a bit dated but we have no doubt you could shower in them if needs be. You might get slightly annoyed at the sound of screaming children thrashing around on scooters if you’re staying in a tent but the noise seemed to stop around 10pm, we slept fine. Overall, big thumbs up from us (picture attached). Oh, hotel was great too, the guy on reception told us to visit a local graveyard, take that as you will.
This hotel is disgusting. And I would strongly advise no one to stay here if you’re alone and also it’s absolutely necessary. My girlfriend was going to stay here one night and she kept hearing people banging on her door when she left. I called reception and asked them what was happening and they said no one was knocking or banging on door but when my girlfriend was on call with me, me and my friends could hear it themselves. My girlfriend is a 20 year old female and she was begging me to come get her because she didn’t trust this place and was scared out of her mind. I tried to call the police but they wouldn’t listen to anything i’d have to say. I had to rush back in an uber and just got another hotel for her for the night. This was a very disturbing experience and some of the staff that we met were rude and had attitude on them. Please don’t be fooled by their prices. Please understand that she was staying the night in nottingham and was trying to find a place to sleep and rest her head after a long day bearing in my mind she isn’t from round here and is so far away from the city centre no access to nothing doesn’t know anyone only me and imagine if i wasn’t there and what would’ve happened because it literally was like they were trying to break in. Worst hotel in the whole nottingham don’t book here.
This was a lovely campsite. We were on Rafters field. You get your own code for the gate. The grass was like a carpet, excellent flat spacious pitch with electric hook up and soft for your tent pegs. Lady came out to show me exactly where to set up. Modern toilet block paces away.Laundrette.Spacious individual rooms with hot showers. Shop with super helpful staff and the National Watersport Centre right next door with Sky Trail, Lagoon Wipe Out and kayaking all very reasonably priced too. Simply take a beautiful walk through the campsite. Yes there were some noisier groups but by 11.30 it was lovely and quiet. Loads of room for my boys to play football and we booked a late check out of 2pm for £7 so we could still do our activities on the last day. Huge playground. Fantastic. Top tip - if it’s a super hot weather forecast go for Pitch 5 in the shade (non-electric).
I thought my room was excellent value for money and I used the gym which was free for residents. My favourite piece of equipment is the cross trainer or stepper as I managed to do the equivalent of 4km going uphill in 20 minutes and I used 100 calories. There were a great many other modern pieces of equipment with a sports trainer on hand too.
I can see negative reviews about cleanliness but I feel it was clean and comfortable. There were spiders outside the windows but they were not inside my room as they obviously hadn't booked in.
The location is stunning, the activities are great, the staff are wonderful. The hotel is disgusting. It’s absolutely boiling and there’s no fan or air-con (we’re in May, I can’t imagine what it would be like in the summer holidays) , you can’t have the window open due to bugs and GIANT spiders I get that it’s inevitable in this sort of location, but fly screens aren’t expensive. The walls are filthy with bugs squashed by previous guests which is vile. The bedding is dirty, the tv is smaller than my laptop. You can’t plug a fire stick in the back as it’s too small. There’s one double plug socket in the room as far from the mirror as possible so you’ll need an extension lead if you want to blow dry your hair whilst using the mirror. The toilet had ****marks in it. VILE. I’ve heard two other people here requesting room changes. We’ve been kept up all three nights by guests that we’ve seen drinking all day arguing through the night then again in the morning. The walls are so thin you can here people urinating in the next room. Bar/cafe is NEVER open. No on-site shop, you have to drive 2 miles for necessities. It’s rife with children staying at the campsite running riot causing trouble with parents no where to be seen. Don’t bother booking mini golf or archery, the golf cause is absolutely abysmal I’ve never seen anything like it. The archery isn’t at a target, it’s at each other…overweight 50 year old men pelting 6 year olds with arrows, absolutely shocking.
Gorgeous surroundings: staff were friendly and very helpful. The room itself was comfortable, but there were a couple of downsides: the decor was a little grubby, with dirty handprints on the walls, and a few spots the duster and vacuum missed. My biggest issue was the shower. Firstly the door did not close fully, so the water escaped out into the bathroom floor: and secondly, I'm a bigger woman, and the doors, even fully open, made access extremely tight and awkward
|First and foremost, the noise level at this campsite was unbearable. Despite the fact that the campsite had quiet hours posted, there was a large group of people who were partying until well past midnight every single night. This made it impossible to get a good night's sleep and was a major inconvenience for anyone who was hoping to enjoy a peaceful camping trip.||Additionally, their was a group that was inhaling some sort of gas out of balloons in front of everyone else. This is obviously not safe or responsible behavior and it created an uncomfortable and unsettling atmosphere. Especially when my children asked what they where doing! ||On top of all of this, the ablutions were terrible. They were consistently dirty and the smell was overwhelming. It was clear that they had not been properly cleaned. One and only positive is the proximity to the Water sport centre. ||Overall, I would not recommend this campsite to anyone. The noise level, and unsanitary conditions make it an unpleasant place to stay. ||
