Small and compact with noise from the very-close-by M3 but still a nice little area in the building of a housing estate.
Unfortunately it isn't always well-maintained with nettles causing a hindrance, impassable mud patches across the paths and dog mess & litter, which is very sad.
On a good day, with some headphones in it's a lovely little place. Oftentimes you'll see ducks, geese and swans.
The footpath that goes past the Lakes is fantastic I've seen slow worms and deer. At present the fish are spawning.
Lots of pollen in the water in May but a nice 20 minute leisurely walk. Canadian geese all year round, make sure to bring some oats!
A lovely walk around Watchett's Lake. There was lots of wildlife to enjoy and lovely to see all the spring flowers coming through.
Nice place but secluded. Seems no one cuts the plants. Stinging nettle popping out from everywhere and got stung on my weekly visit. Also please take food for ducks and geese there. It seems they don't eat well. Literally got cornered by a group of geese when they saw we had food for them.
A lovely walking venue for families and dog owners. The lakes are in reasonable condition and seem to support a variety of water fowl. The surrounding paths currently need some basic maintenance eg weeding and cutting back of brambles and nettles so that walking doesn't become painful and legs aren't nettle stung at every step! A huge variety of greenery and wild flowers to spot, and a small pathway beyond the lakes leads to a 'returning to nature'/re-wilding field that was at one time used as a sports field by the neighbouring school. If growth and spread of shrubbery continues, un disturbed and uncultivated at the current rate, it will very soon be a dense oak woodland with limited pathways. One currently leads to the Frimley Road , close to the motorway bridge.
No facilities, but a pleasant place for a quiet walk nonetheless. Paths sometimes a little overgrown.
Fantastic lakes, ducks and peace and quiet. Nice for evening and daytime strolls.
