It’s perfect $2.50 to get to the airport versus $25 Lyft/Uber. This was a great experience and it was free to go to the Vikings game!!!
About a 40 ride to and from MSP during our weekend stay. Only $2 for riders ($1 for seniors). Convenient kiosk on each end of the platform to buy tickets that are easy to use and take both credit cards and cash - Don't try to ride without a ticket, because the Police will do spot checks for tickets along the route.
Folks I live in Downtown Minneapolis I do not go here at night, in fact I do not like going here during the day either. Its NOT the Station its the kind people that hang out here. This is pan handlers and muggers haven.
Take the train from either from Nicollet Avenue Station (about a block south) or Target Field Station (about 2 block North) which are both much safer and much cleaner.

Sketchy station no mater what time of day it is. There are certain people who love hanging out and loitering at both entrances/exits. Makes me feel uncomfortable even when MPD or Transit Police are nearby. (DO SOMETHING ABOUT IT METRO TRANSIT!)
Wait times over 20 minutes during rush hour are not uncommon. Trains get so crowded there isn't even any space to stand. Routine maintenance is so frequent that train service in downtown is suspended for at least one weekend every month.
Good station. There are trains that go to many locations. You can get to Target Feild, Mall of America, U of M, the Airport, and Downtown St Paul. And hey, let's not forget Prospect Park.
Never remotely on time. Want a blue train? Here's 3, want the (scheduled) green line? Nah, wait 45 mins.
No wonder we all drive cars.
The good: easy access from bus lines around the corner on Hennepin. Restaurants nearby.
The bad: as someone else said, sketchy neighborhood, especially after dark. Not a place where you would want to sit and enjoy the day.
