I was a all together good place. Sticky tables just like any ol' bar and grill but looks like it has had some renovations. Service wasn't the best or the worst for that matter. A bar with no shot glasses and a bar tender that can't make a drinks. I enjoyed the food. My Ruben wasn't half bad, little burnt on the rye bread. Over all It definitely was a wacko experience.
Ordered the Wacko burger with onion rings. Food was flavorful and fresh. Waitress was more than accommodating even changed the fan speed for us! Would definitely recommend if stopping through Knoxville!
The food is great, decent pricing too. My issue with them is their hours. For a hidden gem, dive bar their hours aren't consistent enough or late enough for me to frequent the place regularly. When I drive by, I never know if they are going to be open or not.
Food was ok but nothing phenomenal. It's bar food which sometimes a person just craves! My husband got the tenderloin and it had a fish taste? My guess is they didn't clean the oil recently. I got the Philly. Again, ok, but nothing to write home about. The weird thing: they were out of french fries. Our waitress said we could substitute anything on the sides menu at no charge. They still charged us $1 each for the substitutions. We got wings for an appetizer. They were delicious!!! However, we only got 6. And the price was $12.95.
Menus do not have the prices listed.
We didn't worry too much about that until we got the bill at the end. After all, it's a dive bar in Knoxvile . How much could it be? Well, let me tell you. Our bill for lunch was $74. For 2 people getting bar food. I had 2 cranberry vodkas. They were $4.50 each, small and barely any vodka. My husband had 3 draft beers. Again, small plastic cups and they were $6 each. We used our debit card and there was a $4 fee. We don't mind paying higher prices when they are deserved.
If the prices weren't so ridiculously shocking we'd have been ok. As they are, we won't be back. At least print your prices so people aren't so shocked.
No pictures as I didn't think I'd need pics of bar food!
It's a small town bar, with bar food. The pizza pockets are my boys favorite while the Cobb salad is mine. Super laid back, you can show up in farm clothes and not feel unwelcome. Service can be slow but we know finding help can be tough so that doesn't stop us.
Stopped by Wackos it a nice small eatery in Knoxville Iowa really great staff and the food is really good, plan to visit again
Cute small place and the food was great! I had the breaded pork tenderloin. Server was friendly, so great customer service.
