Pizza was good, but it isn’t my preferred style. Toppings were all excellent, but I would personally like more sauce. I called for pick up and it was ready in about 20 minutes. I got one pepperoni, one sausage, and one Italian beef with mild giardinera.
It’s very rare I award 5 stars.
This is a retro for natives only oasis
I love everything about this place
Pure Chicago experience.
See an old fashioned jute box.
See a decorative pizza made for the owners funeral mounted on the wall.
Easy off street parking.
Average pricing.
Old fashioned good service.
There long time motto “We don’t deliver.”A confident turn on.
AWARDED 3 YUMS ON A SCALE OF 3
Pizza is good, but for my tastes I prefer it hotter and cheesier, more sauce with a crispier crust.
I don't think it should be on a top pizza list, but I'd definitely devour the tiny cut square pieces again next time.
Packed with locals on a Saturday night.
Cash only.
Old style beer bar. Carpet on the walls and old pics.
Super friendly service.
I had high hopes for this place and it's pizza. Since they have been placed on so many best pizza of Chicago lists. After eating the pizza though I don't get it. The pizza is banal with nothing special. It's a basic thin crust pizza that's well done though it is edible and okay it should no way be rated as one of the best of anywhere. I had leftovers that I took home and cooked in my air fryer which made the crust a little crunchier and actually had a better flavor than when it did when it was fresh. I won't go back to this place. It had cobwebs hanging from the ceiling fairly dirty and the service was lacking. Seems like the place is for regulars that haven't gone anywhere else in a long long time. So I will continue my search for the best pizza elsewhere.
Somewhere between a frozen Totinos (lack of cheese), an overcooked Barnaby's, and Pizza King (bland) is the best way to describe what to expect of this local, yet popular on all Chicago tavern style pizza lists, pie. It's not that it is bad, it's just that it's ok. Glad I tried it because I needed a non-deepdish last night at MDW, but I'm not sure about all the hype. The old school atmosphere and friendly service was appreciated. I dropped just under $25 for a 12" sausage and pepperoni. Definitely a pizza to pair with 6 or 7 Old Styles...and a bottle of Tums if you are over 50.
Thin crust crispy tavern style pizza!! I’ve had many pizzas and different styles, but this is the best I’ve had in a while. We had the pepperoni with hot gardenia peppers and for apps jalapeño poppers and sausage toasted ravioli. The pizzas are def made with love and had that PERFECT crisp bite!! Can’t wait to come back for some more and this place is CASH ONLY ????????
Food… yummy!!!
Delicious thin sausage pizza.
Delicious crispy breaded mushroom: YUMMY!
It was flavored and juicy experience in your mouth.
This place was recommended by two different people so I decided to give it a try. Ordered a thin crust pepperoni pizza. I have to say I am EXTREMELY disappointed. The cheese is severely lacking and it was overcooked. The flavor is nothing to write home about either. Tastes like cheap frozen pizza; sauce tastes like basic tomato paste and there is too much oregano...very salty as well. At $24 dollars this mediocre pizza is way overpriced. I should have went to Palermos, Lou Malnatis or Pizanos. I will never order from Nick & Vitos ever again.
