Such an unpleasant experience. Had a nice experience from the Howell store. Moved and went to Tom’s River and very unhappy. Ordered a pair of sunglasses. They came in and weren’t tinted. They tell me I need to pay an additional $75. I was never told that when I paid the required amount. Then a sarcastic remark comes from one of the employees that maybe I didn’t want to pay the $75. Well maybe think before you speak. If I didn’t want to pay the extra money, why were they ordered???? You have to pay in full to complete the transaction. I specifically went for just a pair of sunglasses. Also, the girl at the time of ordering specifically asked if I wanted gray or brown tint. NOT ONCE DID I HEAR SORRY for the inconvenience. Obviously, it was placed wrong in their system. It wasn’t my fault. Very uncomfortable and disappointed with the experience!. I had yo ask what could be done. No effort on their end whatsoever.
I was so happy with my visit and exam. I arrived early and they were able to take me earlier. The girls up front were so courteous and helpful. The eye doctor showed me the scans and explained everything so thoroughly. Never had that happen before. I will be using them from now on for my vision needs. And I loved the selection of frames, too! Thank you!
Not a good experience at all. Eye exam was performed by a "fill-in" who, it turns out, logged an incorrect prescription for me so the two pairs of glasses I purchased were unusable. Had to return. A second exam was scheduled during which the prescription was corrected. Glasses were re-ordered. One pair was fine but the other progressive is still not cut correctly. Back to store again and told they'd again re-cut the one pair. A month later and still no glasses. So this whole "process" has now gone one for over 2 months and has still not been resolved. And forget just phoning the store for update....they DO NOT EVER ANSWER THE PHONE!! Horrible place, horrible service and lots of misinformation given by staff who couldn't care less. I will never return....the lower prices are not enough to go through this hassle.
Maria was fabulous and took the time to help me with my insurance information. She had a great personality! The eye doctor was also absolutely terrific. She took time with me for my eye exam, and I felt when I left, I had a thorough exam and a great experience, My wife also had her eye exam the same time as me and had also a great experience. We both would highly recommend works in Tom’s River, New Jersey for your eye exam! Thank you Vision Works! JoAnn & Kelly
I called and was able to schedule an appointment for the same day. Essence was my asso date whi contacted my insurance. She assisted me submitting my receipts to ensure I am reimbursed for my out of pocket expenses. Walking into the office everyone was friendly and kind.
I’m not usually one to write a bad review, but after my experience with one of their service reps today I will probably never go back to this location. An older woman with short hair was extremely rude to my partner and I for no apparent reason. We went to get his glasses adjusted, after finding out that they were not purchased at that store she seemed very annoyed and said that she would “try to do it but if the glasses broke then she wasn’t liable.” My partner said that it was okay and that we could go elsewhere if they didn’t normally adjust glasses from other stores, to which she said “ok then go ahead and go somewhere else” in a nasty tone. All she had to say was that she wasn’t comfortable doing it and we would’ve understood, but the way she handled it seemed very unnecessary/unprofessional.
I had a terrific experience. From the time I entered the store a respectful gentleman started my process and a wonderful young lady took me through the pre exam section. Then I had the exam with Dr.Jessica Haake who is is considerate and caring to your needs for your eyes. Last there was a very kind woman who I believe her name was Melissa who helped me with my insurance and receive the savings I was entitled to.I apologize for the folks that I forgot your names. You all are great ????

Infact the doctors are always great.
Your service reps however need a dose of reality.
I have yet to have a pleasant experience here in 5 years of visits. I only go to that location out of pure convenience. It has now become increasingly inconvenient.
Congratulations your people took someone who actually walked in planning on buying 2 pairs of lenses, prescription sunglasses, and $800 of contacts and turned it into the bare minimum ticket just so i didnt get screwed on my insurance coverages.
Absolutely unbelievable. If you have an option you should go literally anywhere else.
