Good comfort food. Staff was nice. If you want to know what's going on in town just stop by for a cup of coffee and a conversation. Then wonder about town for all the sculptures. Good time to go is during the watermelon festival.
Service was great. very friendly staff. The food was delicious and the fresh pies for dessert were very tasty. will be coming back again and bringing others. it was a welcome surprise.

Let’s be honest, this is a café. Food was ok. I had the all you can eat. Fish( pollock) it was just ok THE PIE WAS AWESOME Service was great. Reminded me of Mel’s dinner…. If you know what show that was on this is a good place for you.
If you're in the area and in the mood for a great hot roast beef sandwich, then this place is for you! Delicious, tender pot roast on white bread (like God intended!) with savory brown gravy and real freaking mashed potatoes. Follow it up with a slice of his many pies! Yum!
Had taco bar twice now. Both times they ran out of meat. Not busy at all. Waitress was very rude. I always give a place a 2nd try. Won't be a 3rd here.
Today was actually the first time that I have eaten there. The food was excellent, the homemade chocolate cream pie was awesome, as was the taco salad. I will be eating there again.
I LOVE this small town cafe & grill! I had their hot beef sandwich with mashed potatoes. Absolutely delicious! Lots of great beef, gravy and potatoes. My dad had their sloppy joe special which had two nice sloppy joes and fries. My mom enjoyed their creamy potato soup and my fiancé had their BLT. Their cheese curds are the best!!!! But what was truly delicious was their strawberry rhubarb pie…by far the best I’ve ever had! Wonderful waitress and a great cook made the experience very delightful. I sure wish Los Angeles had restaurants like the Vining Cafe! I miss small rural town cooking! Thank you for a great meal and reminding me why I love coming home to the Midwest!
