Best KPortal Reviews
I went in today after not going for about 2 weeks. The location looks really nice with the changes. I always get the shrimp, channa and potato. Today I noticed the halal sign in the window. I had the chicken chow mien. Nothing like what I expected when I opened the container; in the best way possible! Four fried pieces of chicken on a thick bed of savory/sweet noodles. The noodles are perfectly matched with fresh veggies and sauce. I'm planning to take a plate home for my family for dinner; it could definitely feed 2 adults. I had already eaten 2 pieces of chicken by the times I took the pic. And the young lady at the counter was very nice, my food was brought out from the back and walked over to me. It was slow, so that was a nice touch. The sorrel was too sweet for me just served chilled. But put it in the freezer and let it get some ice it in and it will be just right.
The doubles taste just like sauce and sons doubles. It hit hard! Aloo pie and sauces are well seasoned and very flavorful. It was a little bit of a wait but it was well worth it. The recent reviews had me scared but if you’re used to the previous establishments food just know it tastes just as good.
Edit to previous review.
The taste is not consistent. We went again the next day expecting the same flavor and it was lacking.
Great customer service, EVERYONE is friendly, professional and they make sure your order is perfect. I live in Jacksonville, went to Orlando for the weekend, ended up eating here everyday for the 3 days that we were there. Doubles was the best I've had in Orlando, I've been to other places and the food is always salty and bland. NOT HERE! everything was freshly made. The owner was very nice, she kept apologizing for the wait because another party place a big order and they were trying to finalize that but the food was well worth the wait. Wish they could open a spot in Jacksonville. Definitely the spot whenever I'm in Orlando. If there's a crowd when you go in don't let that steer you away, it just means the food is that good that people keep coming back!
It's good to find another Trinidadian restaurant with great reviews. I was headed to a different place nearby for Sunday breakfast but was discouraged by a recent review.
This is a great place for a traditional Caribbean breakfast. I got a bake and saltfish and chickpeas. The bake and saltfish were delicious, the chickpeas not so much. It is prepared a little different than what I am accustomed to.
The staff was friendly but a bit unprepared for new customers. In my opinion, it's nice to get a rundown of what they have to offer before being called on to place an order without knowing what's on the menu.
Food is not the same. Doubles were good. Goat roti amount vs price was not worth it. Baked goods purchased were not edible and stale. Unfortunately, I spent a good amount of $, but not the same as they used to be. We won’t be back.
I've been craving doubles since I got to Florida and Vindi's did not disappoint. Freshly made doubles with great flavor. I get mine with extra tamarind sauce no pepper. Soo delicious. I got 2 to go and they packed chickpeas separately so the roti won't get soggy. Will definitely be back soon! ????
Excellent service...Never before have I had a mega roti. It was filled with everything nice. Lots of chicken, chickpeas, potato...etc. I would definitely revisit.
The food is tasted however, the service is terrible. You have to wait too long and then when you call on the phone some of the people that answer the phone have the audacity to be rude. Now they sent out promotion and what not during the course of the week but when you call the place in order over the phone and tell him you have promotion, they tell you oh, I need to see it in store which I understand but because they’re so slow it does not make sense even going and waiting for the free item. I wouldn’t tell him it’s OK I would rather go somewhere else they’re upset how about upgrading your service so you guys can get more business the mentality of Caribbean people sucks when it comes to business and when someone else puts you out of business, you upset maybe we should get some Jamaicans to open it roti shop nearby and hire some Mexicans to cook the food and pretty sure they’ll do well
