Nice place to eat a coney. Although the chili was different it wasn't bad actually pretty good, closest I could describe it as " a chunkier sloppy Joe with some chili powder " and the root beer was spot on not too bitey not too meh. Get a picnic table and eat on the river.
Visiting from out of state. The food and service were what made the experience so great. I will stop by again on my next trip.
I like this place because of the friendly and fast service, the good prices and the chili dogs. I've had a lot of coney dogs / chili dogs and they all taste similar. Kind of beefy tasting, and that's not a bad thing. Vince's chili dogs on the other hand have a strong tomato taste with a slight sweetness to it. There is some heat to the chili, not too much, maybe black pepper or some chili powder. It's different and that is why I like it. The prices are very reasonable, $2.00 for a chili dog or a $1.00 for a chili burger! And the root beer is very good, I get a strong vanilla flavor from it. The pictures really don't do justice to the food, it tastes much better than it looks. For me this is a good place to go for a quick & cheap lunch or when I get that taste for a chili dog.
The food is excellent and they come to you! Fast and friendly. So worth it. Best onion rings around. Best root beer ever!
The food is always delicious. I recommend the chili dogs and an order of chili cheese fries, along with a root beer. It's happy food. The prices could be better, but if you watch for deals, it's not too bad on the wallet.
The food was ok, but I definitely wouldn't come back again and I personally wouldn't recommend this restaurant to anybody. The burger patty was bland and super greasy. They put a lot of onion on their burgers, so if you don't like onion that much, ask for light or no onion. The homemade root beer tasted like it was full of artificial vanilla. Some people may find this ok, but it made my stomach hurt and made my husband almost puke. The chili cheese fries were the worst part. The chili was bland for the most part. The only strong flavor it had was a super sweet ketchup flavor. This seems to be a common complaint about their chili. The good parts about this place are that the food comes out fast and that the place looked decently clean on the outside (not sure about the inside).
I stopped in yesterday for a couple chili dogs. I used to love their chili dogs. The ones I had yesterday were not very good at all. The chili sauce was more like tomato paste with a couple teaspoons of hamburger added. I might give him one more try for old times sake because I used to really like the chili dogs but if it's not any better I won't be going back. Yesterday was very disappointing!
I love Vince's, and I love Reubens, but I was so bummed with this one. The meat was all fat and gristle. I couldn't even finish it. The onion rings were delicious though, and the mushrooms, as always. I literally love everything else on the menu. I definitely don't recommend the Reuben though.
