Tried them only to learn that it is a digital service when contacting them, no person to speak with. When I needed a question answered it wasn't possible . I ended up not using them because I was confused as to whether the reservation was confirmed and the expected pick up time. Via text, times are communicated via military 24 hour clock.
I felt bad about not keeping the reservation but quite possibly there digital contact info could provide additional details,or it was just me???
Other reviews love the service.
I had used village and was happy with their service until recently. My GF had arranged for a 6:30 AM pick up and told them in advance that she was going to use a credit card. The driver was 20 minutes late and the dispatcher had the audacity to blame her for not allowing enough time. The driver then proceeded to say he could not accept her card. It was not until she refused to pay that he accepted it.
This is not the way I would do business and I will not recommend them or ever use them again! What a shame, because I thought for once there was a service that accually cared about service. They lost a good customer.
Does Not work out well using them, as much as I'd like it, to. Multiple problems doing so. Just a few of those are: base at station often closed; cars; &, drivers are: >>>frequently: no-shows; late; angered & entitled in attitudes; drivers draw a circle of protection around each other to: hide; &, protect: some, Notably, VERY: >Bad driver players; inconsistent pricings; unconcerned; inattentive; deceitful; unresponsive; uncaring; &, very pooranagement; &, owner-ship; Plus: >>Many dangerous, armed: homeless, >pickpocketing; robbing; >thieving; aggressive; armed; intoxicated; under the substance influences; roving/roaming drug-dealing; gang-ed-up together; abusive; predatory types, making the inner workings of the station; &, downtown area, their territorial home; for: their criminal acts in defense of it; &, locked train stations; bathrooms "Occupied", by: homeless, criminalistic, predator: hordes; &, indeed: inconsistent vehicle quality; &, many inexperienced drivers, who know far too little of local terrains; &, surrounding territories, to drive without: highly: >>unsafe, &, downright: Dangerous: constant pinned-eyeballs: starings, at: cellphones for: GPS guidances; &, over-all low-quality: customer service & care skills; driving skills; rushed, unsafe; impatient rides; fights over passengers; &, trips by various drivers; random; arbitrary: passenger/trip rejections; without any meaningful; &, truthful explanations; which are all really, merely excuses; &, out of control; counter-productive; yet: compulsorly, required: computerized control system for ticketing; logging; recording; &, billing: rides/trips/locations; passenger info; &, destinations; costs; Etc.;...which hinder hurtfully, the better service; &, efficiency, they potentially promise. In short: I've had: Many more bad experiences all around, with them; than: the few, scant, good ones, I infrequently encountered.
Car was clean and on time. Driver was friendly. Had no issues. Would use them again. And thank god they had gas! In the wake of Hurricane Sandy, with gas no where to be found, don't know what super hero went around refilling all those car service cars. God bless him.
On Friday Nov 29, I had reserved a taxi for 5:05 p.m. going to the LIRR Rockville Center. The reservation was done at 3:00 p.m. The taxi didn't come until 5:46 p.m. I was so disappointed and angry with the service that point in particular. Point .25 I mean quarter of a star star for that dispatcher and 5 stars for the taxi drivers!
My first ride with Jose was terrific that's why when I needed a car the 2nd time I chose them once again, however, my 2nd driver was not pleasant right from the beginning.
The dispatcher is the devil. He is so rude and nasty. If you want to get yelled at for no reason use this terrible service. Their taxi always comes 1 hour later or not at all.
Dispatch is unprofessional. My car was in the shop. For the four days traveling from the same pick up point and drop off location, the price changed daily. I see why Uber is putting companies like this one under.
