Best KPortal Reviews
Following a funeral, we were treated to a buffet here in the large catering room. The food was very good. Everything was clean and well presented. Interior could use some updating. Parking is limited. Service was great.
I'm sorry I waited so long to write this review. My husband and I moved to Florida a few months ago and what and who we miss the most is The Villa Maria and our very dear friends who first brought us to The Villa. Please don't take for granted "the gem" that you all have in this establishment. Joe and Lori are good people who always greeted us with love and a smile. Every server we ever had was the best. I'm 100% Italian and know good food. Joe's red sauce and meatballs with cavatelli are worth the plane ride back to Scranton and that says a lot. My husband says that no one makes a white stuffed pizza like The Villa Maria and believe me he's tried to find one. I love Lori's special touch in decorating for all the holidays and the bands are always great to listen to. This is a well seasoned restaurant with a heart for serving the community. We have eaten there countless times with our friends and never had a bad meal. We miss this place so much and wish them continued success in business. When we return to visit The Villa Maria will be one of our first stops.
Food was bland and it tasted like the water they boiled the pasta in. Presentation was horrible. And the garlic bread was burnt. It doesn't take a genius to know how to make a simple garlic bread. But it takes a stupid one to burn one. Never eating from here again. I recommend you don't either. Just horrible.
The food was so great from the Villa Maria tent at LaFesta that we decided to come have dinner here today. We were not disappointed! My husband got the stuffed shells with meatballs and I got the chicken parm with pasta. They had the grab and go $9 special. What a value. Sorry I didn't remember to take photos of the food, but we thought it was great. I thought my portion size was on the large size, but my husband has a large appetite and his two meatballs and three stuffed shells were a little light for him. Of course I shared ????.
We sat in the outdoor covered area where there was a bar. Please be aware that people are allowed to smoke at that bar! We did not realize it when we sat outside, but it didn't really bother us after all. Also, they do not have a liquor license so don't think the presence of a bar means they serve drinks. You can bring your own though - BYOB.
We are looking forward to returning and trying other dishes, although I really loved my chicken parm!
We’ve tried a variety of appetizers and entrees during our many dinners at Villa Maria’s. Each of us have our favorites but the one thing we all agree on is that they are all good and the portion size is very generous. When we can’t decide, we order different dishes and eat family style. For example, the steak is one of my favorites while my husband loves the seafood combo over spaghetti.
The waitresses go out of their way to provide great service. The last two times we went, we were 7-10 people. They went above and beyond to take care of us all. I was very impressed with how they wrapped up the leftovers so nothing leaked. No place else does that!!
We’ll be back there again in a few days to celebrate another family occasion and we’re bringing along a few people who haven’t eaten there before. We are confident that they will enjoy it as well.
Buon appetito!!
It’s been a few years since I’ve been to Villa Maria and it was just like I remembered. Their grab and go menu is a great deal.
My husband and I wanted to support a local restaurant and try something new so we got dinners from here. We are now lifetime customers and have ordered twice and will be getting again this weekend. The food is beyond excellent. Homemade, perfect quality and huge portions. We have had quite a few different dinners and everything is delish!
Ordered 3 Thanksgiving meals. The container was stuffed with all the fixings. Plus 3 pumpkin pies and sweet potatoes. Was still pretty warm when I picked it up. When I arrived they had everything ready and I was in and out back home before I knee it. Will definitely order again next year. Thank you
