My family stays here when visiting family in the area. We always stay here as it is cost effective, has clean & quiet rooms, friendly staff, and a free continental breakfast. It is a short drive to family and to downtown San Rafael which makes it convenient.
Stayed in Villa Inn for 2 nights to explore Marin, Muir Woods, San Rafael, and Napa, and would highly recommend it. Comfortable stay, the rooms were very clean, and the staff was very friendly. The owner of Villa Inn hails from Italy, so it was cute to see references from Venice and other spots in Italy there. Check-in is open till late hours, and ample parking is available for your car. Continental breakfast is served, much like any other inn/ hotel but good to get your day started. It is right on the highway, so stopping by here is pretty easy. Very reasonable accommodation for the area.
We had a wonderful stay at the villa inn. The staff was so incredibly friendly and warm, I’d stay here again just for them! Our room was very clean and had everything we needed for a comfortable night. The property is located in a quiet area and the owners have cultivated lovely plants throughout. The $118 we paid was by far the cheapest in the area and we were surprised to learn that it came with a modest but sufficient continental breakfast as well. It was pet friendly and we would certainly stay here again if we’re ever back in the area.
We spent 3 wonderful nights at Villa Inn. We had a great experience and would definitely go back. We felt safe in the area. The Inn was a short drive to San Francisco and lots of beautiful natural areas for hiking and exploration. Plenty of delicious restaurants nearby and Whole Foods/ Trader Joe's. Our room was extremely clean and smelled fresh. The beds were comfortable. It was quiet and we slept great. Our room was very spacious. We stayed in room 71. Breakfast was waffles, cereal, bananas and bagels and cream cheese and muffins which was perfect for us. Staff was friendly and helpful. We would definitely return and recommend to others.
Great place to stay. The room had a lot of space, it wasn't terrible for the price! I would definitely recommend this place for someone on a budget. It is located in a pretty quiet area. Fast food restaurants and some gas stations are closed by 9 pm or earlier. There is a restaurant on site, but it was closed during my stay. Nice staying here!

Attitude is world class
Recently had a three night stay. The folks in the office are very pleasant and helpful. My room was simple, clean and comfortable. If I needed supplies such as extra coffee packets, they were offered freely. The cafe is pretty good, though I only had one meal. It's close enough to downtown and makes for a good walk if you're into that. All in all, it was a good experience and their rates are quite reasonable.
We stayed at The Villa recently on our way to spend time at Point Reyes. The hotel clerk was very friendly and quickly had us checked in. Our room (queen double) was very clean and had a nice retro feel. The beds were comfy and we slept well.
The hidden gem of this property is the restaurant, which serves exceptional and authentic Italian food. After a long road trip, the food and drinks did not disappoint.
Don't let the reasonable price of this inn fool you, this is an excellent place to stop in for a night, we will definitely be back for future trips.
