Absolutely disgusted! Support your local buisness? Not likely when you get charged £3.60 for half a loaf of stale bread with more air pockets than there is bread. It costs pittance to make a loaf of bread. What makes these people think their products are worthy of such an inflated price tag?
I bought a seeded loaf of Vickys bread from farm shop in Exeter, gorgeous fresh bread, good size loaf as just for me, my family all prefer white, will certainly recommend, delicious!!
Vicky does so many amazing loaves. Rye with walnuts is great and anything with cranberries ????
The bread is expensive compared with other breads but then it’s not a fair comparison because it’s so much more enjoyable.
Best loaf of bread that I've had that hasn't been made at home. More reasonably priced than other local bakers around as well. Thank you!
Properly made bread.
Their sourdough is a classic, and I don't know anyone else in Cornwall that makes such excellent baguettes. Get them fresh out of the oven in the evenings and consume asap before they go hard.
If you've only ever had bread from a supermarket, try Vicky's bread (or make it yourself at home).
I know their main business is to sell their bread to shops and cafes - but if you get it direct, and time it so it's fresh out of the ovens, you're in for a treat!
We have just been on holiday to Cornwall and bought a sliced loaf of Vicky’s cloudy white bread in a lovely shop in Mawgan porth. £3.60??? I thought. Worth every penny. Toasted with the lemon curd I purchased from the national trust shop, it was amazing!
We like Vicky's bread, saffron buns and flapjacks very much and frequently go out of our way to find shops that sell them.
However, the lemon drizzle cake is a real disappointment, dry and with little taste, hence my rating of 4 not 5 stars.
Lovely little outlet. Great to buy fresh bread directly from the bakery. Love the soda bread myself, but they have spelt and rye loaves too. All made with traditional methods. Proper bread!
