Stayed in the hotel and had £40 credit to spend on food in the bar so an obvious choice for an evening meal. Excellent food the burgers were really tasty and filling. The chips were warm and tasty. Service staff were very friendly and helpful, drinks and food were all brought out quickly and we were well looked after. Really enjoyable dinning experience, lovely big screens to watch the England final and great social distancing measures in place. Would recommend and visit again even if not staying in the hotel.
Dined here lastnight while we were staying at the hotel. A very spacious and modern looking restaurant with table areas and booths set out with plenty of room around so you are not elbowing the person next to you. Nicely air conditioned (which was needed on the hottest day of the year sofar). 2 lovely waitresses served us, very chatty and ameinable to our requests. Waited a good while for our 'set menu ' considering the quietness of the restaurant but that is my only gripe. The food was top quality. Burger was cooked as I had requested it and was beautiful, and the rustic chips.... Well I say chips... More like massive wedges were absolutely stunning! My wife had the piri piri chicken skewers. Again lovely but a little word of warning, try the accompanying sauce BEFORE you pour it over your chicken because its got quite a kick ????????????. Set menu price was reasonable and would recommend. The food and service 10/10. ????????????
Stayed at Village Hotel and so ate here at the inside restaurant. The Go Spicy burger was actually good with a decently thick patty with cheese and a bit of jalapeno. The lattice fries are the best thing of the meal though, like crispy hash browns.
The menu isn't extensive. Pub grub with a twist. However eye wateringly expensive.
Village hotels used to have some reasonably priced food, but I'm not sure what their plan is going forward, especially with the majority of the UK thinking carefully how they spend their hard earn cash
Sunday evening, very quiet, mainly hotel guests. I had ribs, which were luke warm, my partner had a sirloin steak. Both came with french fries even though the menu said chunky chips. OK but won't be back. Staff friendly and attentive but the meal wasn't what we expected.
Had drinks and and food in there with my wife and several friends. The waitress Jennifer couldn't have been more helpful. She was very attentive to all our needs and never stopped working While we were there, this young Woman is a shining example of what staff should be like ...well done the Verve grill. Keep up the good work.
Staff seemed preoccupied although the bar was empty. Over priced on all drinks for example white wine £9 per glass £3.75 for a small coke. The food menu is minimal with very little choice and again over priced. Gym and hotel are livable but definitely avoid the bar and grill
Food and staff were good, but we were very disappointed with the prices. Both food and drink were over priced. We would love to use it more but at those prices.
