Walking along the flood plains near the mouth of the Van Duzen River Bridge is nice, River Access is found on Sandy Prairie Rd. Fun to watch the birds flying out of their cliff view nests, and to see fish and frogs. Water is low enough to walk across in July. Great place to visit in Humboldt County.
Van duzen river acess point. Nice area to rockhound and to be by the river.
I like looking for fossils along the Van Duzen river. I've been doing this since I was a kid with my grama and uncle. I recommend the Van Duzen River Bridge for anyone who likes to look for fossils or just relax. You never know what you're going to find.
Lots of garbage. Sad too see . Could be a nice day use place.
