The location is convenient but the station itself is very SHABBY. And there aren’t enough signs to guide your way within the station, so you can easily get lost on the platform. Usually not many people here except passengers getting on or off, thus no one to ask for directions. Would absolutely not recommend using this station without someone familiar with it. Felt like being spirited away when I got to the wrong platform and couldn’t find the way to the correct one at night!
The station used to be nice and comfortable. Now it needs a lot of work, no more little store to buy snacks or drinks. There is a lot of water damage on the walls and floors.
Don't forget to buy the ticket! It's a different transit system from the Chicago metro.
The ceiling needs to be a little bit higher for tall people 6"foot 2'in. It's a little bit low. There are two levels in the train station track 1 and track 2. One of them has a tunnel underneath the tracks to platform two.
Feels creepy. Good service but it lacked information on South Shore Line departures (I had to guess at which platform the train will arrive)
We can able to see Chicago downtown buildings from here .
Falling apart but convenient location, lobby was leaking from ceiling, no vending
The new font (implemented in 2017?) on train departure screens is hard to read. The previous font was better. Also, inbound trains intermixed with outbound trains is too much information noise. Very very few people ride trains from Van Buren to Randolph. Display outbound trains only, just as before.
