Our car broke down a mile away. The amazing auto shop next door got us squared away the next day. This was a place to sleep. Paid the same as I did for my ocean front suite in FL, so there’s that. Then as our car was being finished, we had to leave the room and sit out in the rain. Not sure why as the cleaner wasn’t there and no one else was coming. Just to try to get more $ from us? Seemed odd. But, I guess when you need a place to be rather than outside, this is better.
I give everything a 1☆ except the Laundry girl Rose . Her I give 5☆ too cause she REALLY takes care of the working guys. She does more than just their dirty clothes.
Will forever be my go stay when I am in the area for work and have to be away from home for a bit. Always welcoming and clean. Friendly staff and great service. Very accommodating.
The owner is so nice and attentive to all the guests needs. We stayed so long my husband and the owner became friends. It is very clean and they are so friendly. If we have to stay hotel again herewhile working this will be our place for sure.
This was our 4th stay here at the Oak Tree Inn West and my wife and I found that they have not changed since our last stay. The rooms were quiet and very clean. The front desk staff were really helpful. Our biggest problem was that for the 2nd year in a row they could not find our reservations. Thank goodness they were not full so we were able to get a room without any problems. Inexpensive, but non-smoking.
i booked this room 3 weeks before my stay. the day of my stay i got a notification that my booking was canceled. called to rebook and they wanted to charge me forty dollars more. i guess they figured out garth brooks was at tiger stadium and their rooms were filling up.
The definition of you get what you pay for. Overall for the price I think it was fine. They never answer the phone. I had left something at the hotel but they wouldn't answer the phone so I could let them know to set it aside for me. It's fine for a resting place late at night
Other reviews warned of roaches. We spent the night and not one in sight in rm 111. Other reviews also warned about difficulties getting someone to check them in. I believe this us still an issue, as the cook at diner next door is also motel front desk. They do have help wanted sign out. We lucked out and the cook was just walking into motel office door when we arrived. She had us wait a minute to make sure room was clean and honored our request for ground floor. Yes, the room had odd smell, but, hey, the rate was only $48 plus tax, and the carpet looks new. There is coffee, micro and frig, foodnext door, convience store for beer, so all in all, I'm relieved and pleased by the one night stay. The travel lodge motel to the east that gets better reviews was full. I dud water earplugs to diminish train whistle sounds.
