Very good food. If you're looking to have traditional Americanized "Chinese" food you might be disappointed because this is fresh entrees made by a wonderful woman from Thailand and her family. Chicken pad Thai was the star of our meal nice flavor with fresh bok Choi, carrots and sprouts. Forgot to photograph the full entrees which had quite a bit on the plate. Our dinner was a very pleasant experience.
Support our local small business parents with kids in school! Valerie has an amazing story of success and hard work and trauma (all my words, not hers), provides us the most delicious comfort food we could ever need. 30+ years of searching for the perfect take home, yes, you have found it. Enjoy.
Pho of flavor!
When it kinda looks like an Asian families living room in the restaurant you know they will have great pho. And their pho had great flavor and highly suggest you try it and pronounce it right: fah
But I do have lots of critical comments. 5 stars is for great tasting food, the overall restaurant def could be improved.
First I was given a fork and western spoon. No, let your customer admit they need a fork, not the other way around…
No herb salad? Pho was even on menu they called it beef noddle soup (claimed people don’t know what pho is, I say educate them then!)((if you didn’t know pho is better than pizza!)
Beta fish was in olive jar with label still on it? Come on man! Put aquariums in your home not your counter… or make them clean and spectacular.
And overall the restaurant could be emptied of personal items and cleaned. My mom and uncle who I am in town visiting will not join me at this place till it looks clean in and out. (I love a dingy pho shop, but most people won’t)(sorry I called it dingy but the betta in an olive jar is a prime example) people spend more $$$ in clean empty places…
I want this place to remain cause I loved their pho. But I would highlight Vietnamese pho rather than hide it as beef noodle soup… educate and make people feel adventurous trying it! Nothing is more addicting than pho but beef noodle soup sounds like cambells canned soup.
Again great pho! But don’t hide it, promote it! You have Pho on your awning that’s why I walked it, but the menu had it called a soup? Teach people about pho, hook new people to this amazing dish! I just tried it for first time a year ago, now I scout every metro area I go to for the best pho I can find!
Pho broth A+
Pho noodles b (slightly soggy)
Pho contents a- (I want tripe and the works)
Pho add in’s c+ (herb salad missing)
Pho utensils F (who uses a fork?)
I will be back hope they aren’t upset at my critical feed back cause they are closest pho spot to my moms house when I’m in town!
Given the overwhelmingly positive reviews I was disappointed. I ordered Lo Mein and the only flavors were canola oil and black pepper. I got the “special” Lo mein but there was just a single piece of steak among the chicken and shrimp. (The chicken meat was good quality though.) The egg rolls were small and tasted as if they could have been frozen. Basically, it was what I imagine American Chinese food tasting like in the 50s.
I gave 3 stars because the rest of our party’s food was okay and the service was quick and friendly.
We stopped in and had the orange chicken which was incredibly tender and lacked the heavy batter most places have, the batter was light and delicious. We also had the Pad Thai chicken. It was delicious spicy and yummy. But the best was the Maui smoothie. We split the smoothie and it was enough for both of us.
I don't understand why this place is never busy when we visit because the food is SO GOOD.
Highly recommend the pad thai and fried rice.
The parking lot could stand a cleaning as well as the inside, but the food and service are top notch.
This was the first time we ordered from Valerie`s.....NEVER again!!! We order chicken chow mein. What we got, a container with vegetables and chicken, no sauce no gravy, nothing. And the cream cheese wontons had gravy to dip them in instead of a sweet and sour sauce. Horrible.
Stopped here tonight on a recommendation. We were greeted right away from Valerie. The menu had lots of options but not an overwhelming selection. They offer Vietnamese food along with many American choices.
We started off with the pork egg rolls. They were fantastic. Some of the best I've ever had. Flavorful with a delicious dipping sauce. Not greasy like so many can be.
For entrees, we chose Kung Pao Chicken and Shrimp Chow Fun. You can choose a 1-5 spice level for each dish. I love a spicy dish and a 4 had a great kick to it. Both dishes had a nice complex flavor with a nice variety of veggies.
We've explored many Asian cuisine restaurants in the eastern metro. This was easily the best. The service was friendly, prompt, and we'll be going back soon and often.
