Best KPortal Reviews

I liked this Lil' place, well, the place was just a boring sorta shelter where u can sit down n eat whatever u order from their food truck parked inside there, n the place was clean (ALWAYS a plus+). Note: I don't recall them having a restroom there (NOT even for customers if I recall correctly, unless it was OUTside somewhere). The service was decent n the girl was nice. I ordered n paid w/ a credit card, then grabbed 2 cans of Pepsi & when I attempted to pay she told me it was on the house bcuz each purchase has to be at least $5 when charging credit. Mighty nice of her! They do what they're there To do, serve food n make money. Everything went pretty smoothly.
I liked the food, I had the Carne Asada Burrito & Rice on the side, n I gotta say it was pretty good and tasty. I was impressed by the portion size, it was quite stuffed with just what I ordered, all looking large & incharge! Granted $7 aint cheap for a burrito, probably around the average going rate I'd guess, but this is NOT ur average sized burrito, Whew! It was big. . and it was actually pretty great! Oh yeah, they also have some small cups of sauces, salsa, pickled onions, Pico de Gallo, guacamole, (& maybe cucumber slices) available to grab. This was the only food spot I've seen since I came to Arizona that has free guacamole n pico de gallo, most places charge a buck or whatever, (another point - this place is Killin it!) I'll definitely reattend this Lil' juke joint. . Nothing special with just great food.
Eat here at least once a month since they've opened. I've watched them grow and this is the kind of place that when you eat the food. You know why they keep growing. Come here for some of the best Mexican food in Tucson, and the best in Vail.
I don't understand people and their restaurant reviews. First of all this is not a restaurant this is a food truck that's been parked there long enough for at least one of the tires to go flat. And it has a kind of hard plastic walled room over a porch, if you can call it that, and some cheap tables and chairs. There is a menu on the wall and a couple ladies in the truck who were not particularly friendly, actually, and all the condiments are behind a sliding window covered in tin foil.
Okay what it really comes down to is the food. I have lived here and Tucson area for almost 7 years and you know what's hard to get here about 50 miles north of the border with Mexico? Good Mexican food. It's really amazing. One might think that you could stop in almost anywhere that advertises food from South of the Border and get a great sampling of that cuisine. I've had better Mexican food in Washington DC.
Even more so you would imagine that you go to a food truck like this and you would get really down home cooking or something. Not so. The food here is bland and not particularly appetizing. The quesadilla was cheese and a few little bits of chicken and that was it - and it was mushy. The tacos were small with tough shredded beef and kind of just thrown together. It was as if they made the recipe but eliminated the spices - I mean any spices.
Imagine going to New Orleans and getting bad Creole food. Or, you go to a seafood restaurant in Maine and are served bad Lobster.
So I don't understand these people who give this place a 4-5 star rating. What are they just awestruck by the grittiness of it or something? Is this what equates to a culinary adventure for some people? It's ridiculous. Sloppily prepared bad food is bad food - out of a food truck or a swanky joint with all the trimmings.
So I would pass on this. There's nothing special about it in terms of the food, decor, service, atmosphere, or anything else. I was asked if I wanted my food to go or eat in and still got it in a paper bag on white styrofoam with a single plastic fork. And, since it's a food truck there are no facilities.
Oh, and this funny little thing happened. At first I could not find the condiments behind that tin foil covered door. So I tapped on the food truck window that was closed and waited. I tapped again and waited, then I tapped a third time and nothing happened. I could see the ladies standing there, in their truck kitchen. Then one of the patrons - a man there with his young family - got up and he tapped on the window the same as I did and it opened! I wonder what the problem was there? One can only imagine.
So, the food here is cheap and fairly quick. When I was there there was about a dozen guys from one of the nearby road crews who came in after I did.
Two stars instead of one because I ate it when I was hungry and didn't go someplace else.
We were told that this was some of the best Mexican food in Tucson, and we agree. We had dinner here twice in one week and really liked everything that we had. Highly recommend this.
We were on a little date road trip and decided to check it out. Since our next destination is Dairy Queen we decided to share a shredded beef burrito. Man was it good! We'll be back.
Been goin here for 3 years and has always been excellent food, great prices and presented well! They just need get a building with a nice dining room...Love the food!
This place is delish! The food is on point. If you're looking for a quick sport for amazing Mexican food I highly recommend it.
The outdoor seating is like a sauna as no a.c. units worked. The food was what you would expect from your average food truck
