Great cafe, dog friendly with a relaxing casual atmosphere. Soup was delicious and the salmon open sandwich stunning - highly recommended. (Turned away at Home Ground, who won’t let you inside with a dog!)
Such a shame about the food. It’s a nice looking cafe with good coffee but unfortunately the food was below average. Everything was either undercooked or overcooked. Dry, tasteless and not worth £12 considering what you get at other cafes in the town.
Lovely place to sit and watch the world go by. Fabulous comfortable seats with nice background music through a good sonos speaker. Loud enough to hear while still being able to have a conversation. Please try it out... they also serve food which I didn't get to try on this visit. I think they're only open during the day?
First trip of 2024 saw Boothroyd and I return to Windermere. Starting the day of with a modest repast in this lovely little café cum bar. About £10 for the small breakfast and £3 for a pot of breakfast tea. Liked the bacon and egg but not so keen on the pork sausage; a little chewy. (There is a world class butcher shop two doors down, Huddlestons but they are on annual holidays after the New Year. Shame as we were hoping to take home lots of mest!)
A lovely cafe with a great ambiance. Lovely place to go for a bite to eat we enjoyed a lunch which was tasty and freshly prepared.
Some really tasty cakes too.

We were looking forward to eating breakfast and felt spontaneous, so we just walked into town and thought we would pick a place to eat at by its look and menu.
Utopia is a lovely looking place, quite cosy in the centre of the town.
That's about it. 5 staff behind the counter, but they do not do table service, so you have to approach them to order. Strange business model, isn't it supposed to be quality over quantity?
We have placed our order, which we had to pay immediately, but didn't even have a chance to look at the bill. It almost felt like they were in a rush to get back to their phone / conversation with colleagues.
An item was missed when we received our order, so after waiting respectfully for a couple of minutes, we had to approach them to remind them about what we had ordered.
Coffee was subpar, we didn't even finish them. The food was great though, kudos to the chefs. No check-back from waiting staff.. no chance given to provide feedback.
Overall, it felt like the front of house is lacking either training or supervision. I understand that in the current climate, it is hard to find people who want to work and provide good service, but there must be a better solution than overstaffing where its clearly not needed.
There was a breakfast place where people were standing in the queue in the rain to be able to get a table. We might as well try that the next time.
Nearly every morning I stopped here for a bacon sandwich, a coffee and a laugh.
The staff here are awesome.

Good food, good value and great service.
Highly recommended
Stopped in for an oat latte - watery but drinkable. Was considering coming back for breakfast tomorrow as cooked vegan breakfast available. Asked if I could please plug in my phone to charge at the available point next to my table - told no. No explanation. Disappointing, seeing as every other cafe I've visited in recent years has had no issue with this.
