Best KPortal Reviews
I am going to take the time to write this review as these guys deserve it and it's the minimum I can do to thank them. I am a licensed tech in Canada that had a wheel bearing in my Audi Q5 begin make noise about 300 miles out of Salt Lake. I was recommended to call Utah Imports as they were close to my hotel. Jim took a chance by fitting me in the following day on the basis on my own (hearing) diagnosis. This could have easily ended up being much more than he anticipated, but said they will get me in and try their best. I understood how this works and hoped for the best possible outcome, which was to not spend more nights in a hotel. They completed it just before my extended check out time and I was on my way. Marc was excellent and he is very knowledgeable. Jim took the time out to introduce himself and provided me with the assurance that they do their best to get travelers back on the road. I made it back home (2000+ kms) with no issues and it relieved some stress of mine on the long trip. Thank you guys very much. I can't think of a better place to take your vehicle.
Best place if you have the cars they work on. No need to go to the Dealership anymore. They are very kind, reliable and honest and fair in price. They truly seem to care about their clients and care about doing their work quickly but correctly. If I were you I'd buy a BMW, Audi, Porsche, Mini, or Volkswagen. In order to work with these guys. ????
Knowledgeable, honest and helpful; it doesn’t get better than Utah Imports in Salt Lake City. They have done excellent work on our 2015 BMW 435i and 2012 VW Tiguan for the last 4.5 years.
First example of honest: Check Engine light on the BMW. The diagnostic computer said it was something to do with the evaporative emission system. Owner Jeff explained all the possibilities, but before doing anything else he removed and replaced the gas cap with instructions to purchase a new genuine BMW cap if the problem persisted. That was three-years ago. I doubt very much that the BMW Dealer would have suggested such a simple solution.
Today I brought the BMW in for rear brakes and a coolant change and asked about replacing a plastic coolant hose fitting that has a reputation for failing. Both Service Writer Marc and Owner Jeff took the extra time to examine the under hood area and stated there was no reason at this time to replace the part. That’s about as honest as it gets!
I'm writing this to thank you for the great work on my Syncro. The alignment you did made it ride better than it ever. It was previously rough over smaller bumps, but is now smooth and compliant. Plus it feels less loose and safer.
Thanks as well for the electrical troubleshooting and any other tweaks you may have made. You guys have gotten me out of several jams. In addition to providing great service on my cars, you have helped to keep my almost 40 year old van going that is driven weekly if not daily through all seasons. I know that I can trust Utah imports to provide honest and efficient service.
I’ve been bringing my Volvos here for years and they always do a great job! When my XC90 had a major problem (one of the sunroof drain hoses detached, allowing rain water to leak into the wiring behind the dash), I initially towed the car to Ken Garff Volvo in hopes that Volvo would cover the repair. They didn’t, and quoted me $12,500 and up, depending on what else they had to replace besides the wiring harnesses. I told them no way, and towed the car to Utah Imports. They were able to fix it for less than a third of the cost and I was overjoyed and grateful, since I had seriously considered donating the car and taking the loss.
I only have good things to say about Utah Imports- they are knowledgeable, friendly and honest. I would not take my cars anywhere else.
I live in Nevada normally I was in SLC for a friends doctor appointment. My new to me car ran low on DEF fluid. I tried every dealer ship near SLC and all of them were booked for days or weeks. The gentlemen here answered the phones enthusiastically and were able to get us in as soon as we showed up even though their whole garage/parking lot looked full. They even took the time to explain a little bit more about how my car works. Extremely grateful they were able to help us and get us back on the road.
We’ve enjoyed a long and happy relationship with Utah Imports. In September of 2015 Jeff and Jim rescued me after a local tire store messed up the front end. They understand what they do and they do it with perfection standing by all their work. I won’t trust my Eurovan to anyone else. Thanks to their whole team!
I have the cutest little Mini Cooper S. I would not let just anyone work on my baby. These guys are so good. I have a favorite mechanic there. I always request him to work on my car. I’m so grateful that they’ll do that for me. They do an excellent job. Very honest. I will go back to them as long as I have a foreign car. I’m so grateful I found them. In my book they’re number one. I cannot say enough good things about them. THANK YOU UTAH IMPORTS!!!!!
