I visited this restaurant a couple of weeks ago when I was in Detroit. I came here with my mom, sister, son and son’s dad. Food was great, kool aid was good. Everything was good. Ordered dessert and there is where I had a problem. My mom ordered carrot cake which looked to be almost 2 full slices, my sister ordered peach cobbler which was a nice size, I ordered cheesecake which was a normal size and son’s dad ordered strawberry shortcake. Mannnn listen, the way she gave us out to go dessert, we should’ve known something was up. This is what he received. It looks like a half of a half of a slice. Straight played in our face.
I Waited 40mins for my food in which I didn’t mind due to it being Sunday ! The lady up front was great I left her a tip! I Ordered a Wing Dinner (something that I don’t normally get) and received 1tender 4 wing dings and 2 whole wings
Lol unbelievable if this is how your wing meal come it should state that on the menu 0/10
S/N You guys should stop taking call ins when you’re getting slumped like you were today. I felt bad for the lady taking the orders! You had angry people up front and angry people coming in that had to go all the way to the back of the line which was almost in the dining area for food they ordered an hr ago and they still had to wait.
I love my normal order but today just wasn’t a good day.
The restaurant was busy. The service was slow, but the server was polite and the food was delicious. I had the meatloaf and the wife had catfish. Small repairs/ maintenance needed on some of the seats. I will return for sure
Cashier went above n beyond to help me. Even fulfilled my request to blend half the meatloaf up for me for my mom's puree diet. In turn she was able to enjoy the whole meal. Food was good too. Got yams and mash.. both were delicious ????. Will be back. Thanks again!
I had been there before so I was excited about going back. It took 45 minutes to get my food. And when I got it it was warm not hot at all. I was there for a friend's graduation dinner.
Was told that it was only two waitresses.
If you don't have enough staff do carry out only.
This place came highly recommended. They did not disappoint. The portions may look small, but that is what happens when you use chickens that don't have steroids in them. The food was perfectly seasoned to the point I amlost felt bad putting hot sauce on the chicken. Almost.
Food, Service, Atmosphere = All Great! I went on a Sunday afternoon. They were short staffed and let us know that upfront. We waited about 40 minutes before our food cake, and I must say, the wait was worth it. EVERYTHING WAS DELICIOUS! I ordered the Catfish, cornmeal fried with Collards and Mac. I also tried the Pinto Beans, Fried Corn, Meatloaf, and Dresing. Cornbread automatically cones to the table. ... I would definitely go back, however, there is a "Help Wanted" sign on the door before entering, so please have patience. Othwr that that 10/10 definitely recommend!
Me and my Sister's were looking for a Soul food restaurant for my Birthday some we found had no dine in so we kept searching and that's when we ran across this restaurant Urban Soul Food the food was amazing the atmosphere was nice and our Server Ariana I think that her name but anyway she was friendly and knowledgeable about the food I told her we will be back.The chocolate Cake was on point I definitely will recommend this place.Good Job!
