Ok, this review should have been made a while ago but I can't go into the New Year and not share the amazing and timely service I received from J and Up North Auto. After having my engine completely destroyed by another shop (corporate business nonetheless, law suit pending), J managed to get my car running in tip top shape and I have had any worries since. He has also worked on my wife's car and we couldn't be more satisfied. I refuse to take my cars anywhere else for as long I'm stationed in the area, I might even bring vehicles back if I actually do move. His prices can't be beat, his work is amazing and his customer service is 100% genuine, honest and professional. He's saved me so much.....
Very pleased with service and prices. He was able to change my oil with skilled precision after I've been told by 2 other mechanics at oil changing places that they couldn't get my oil pan screw out and I would need a whole new oil pan. $500+ ????????????
Up North Auto solved my issue for under $55. He saved my car's life and my wallet at the same time!!! ????????????????????????

I took my vehicle in for engine replacement. It took 5 months to get it back and it still wasn't working. I took it to another shop they found numerous problems with the install,bolts missing,exhaust manifold not tighten, a/c not working,motor mount bolt not tighten, the list goes on. I would not recommend this Place to anyone. Not to mention the beer bottle caps in the vehicle. We don't drink so I know they weren't from me. Thanks Jay for costing me another 1k to get it right. But I will have the last laugh. See you in court.
So I wish I would of read the other reviews before I trusted him. I paid over 1200 with work with this man. He broke serveral things on my car and didn’t say anything. The first thing he broke I called and told him, he say it wasn’t him and said I could review camera. The secoind this was the alternator bracket and the instead of putting it in correctly he put it in wrong. My car stop running and had to get diagnose on it. It was said the tension was not put in correctly and cause if alternator to be tilted. It cost me extra 350 to get it done the right way. THIS IS A HONEST COMPANY AND I WOULDNT TRUST HIM. That shop is nasty and filthy as well
I took my SUV to fix a gas issue and a broken bolt on a rear hub assembly. 5 days later without a phone call, I went there to see was the service done. The attendant literally asked me “now what needed to be done to your vehicle again ?” The first visit, I wrote down what needed to be done along with the new bolt for hub assembly WITH my name, number. The attendant also said they didn’t know why I needed to install the new bolt. It was obvious that my rear driver’s side tire had a broken bolt. $70 later I drove off. I put gas in my vehicle and the evaporation problem STILL remained. To back up a little, I NEVER received a phone call about ANY progress on my vehicle OR what the mechanic was seeing on my vehicle. I had to call them. The owner is very knowledgeable so I won’t take that from him. But this go around was very unprofessional and no communication. If time was a problem and they didn’t have time to look at my truck, I would have gone elsewhere.
I took my vehicle for repair like I’ve done many times before, however I was absolutely shocked when I noticed my driver-side fronted from the hood to the bumper had been hit. Someone hit my car on Up town Auto grounds and Jay, the owner, lied to the Cops saying he doesn’t know how it happen! He then went as far to say that I must have brought it to him already hit! This is absolutely obscured!! I’ve sent him at least four other customers, not to include my sister friend has sent him at least ten customers. Jay knows what happen to my car and covered it up! My heart bleed to watch a grown man lie to an officer and then me his loyal customer. Jay could not look me in the eyes. He locked the shop and left. Your a husband , father , and business owner where is your honor and integrity! God won’t bless mess! You can’t prosper with defeat and lies!

I am the proud business owner of Safe Habits School of Driving & my 2013 Chevrolet Cruze was ALL but dead, before I chose Up North Auto to make the repairs. It turned out to be an amazing decision & after speaking with the Owner, I think he told me that he had taken my damaged engine out (213,000 miles) & replaced it with a (35,000 mile) engine within a day.
The turnaround time was phenomenal on such a major repair & he actually did save my vehicle's life. Without him, I would be financially devestated. His prices were some of the best in the business & above all else, HE GUARANTEES HIS WORK & will go above & beyond to make the customer EXTREMELY HAPPY. I will always highly-recommend him to family and friends & now I can't stop going back.
