We came here for the first time about 3 weeks ago, and have been back 4 times since. Safe to say we are now regulars, thanks to the amazing food and top notch service from our favorite bartender, Luis. He memorized our names and orders after only one time meeting us! We haven’t found a place quite like here that has given us such a memorable and high quality experiences. Absolutely recommend Walley’s Oysters and bacon, the BEST oysters we’ve had in Alexandria. Haven’t visited at night time yet but apparently it’s a very popular bar that gets pretty busy since it’s open so late. We love to come during the day and enjoy the atmosphere, friendliness of the clientele/locals, and the people watching since it’s right in old town alexandria. Union Street Public House truly checks all the boxes!!
Fantastic experience. Started at the door and continued at the bar. Bruce was tending bar and has been here for 40 years. Great beer on tap and the food was excellent as well. Had the steak frites with sweet potato fries. If you're looking for other places to dine, Bruce will send you to the right places. There are a few proper Irish pubs in town..this is one of the better ones. Cozy decor as well. Highly recommend .
We came for their happy hour which goes till 7pm. There were 4 of us and we walked in and grabbed a table right away. All the servers were very friendly and checked on us throughout our time there. We each got a beer/cider and for food got the cheeseburger sliders, Buffalo wings and barbecue wings all from their happy hour menu. We also ordered a side of their garlic Parmesan fries which was from their regular menu. The sliders and fries were both delicious. We needed to kill some time while we waited for a table at a different spot for dinner, so this was a great place to grab a drink and light snacks while we waited!
We went on a week night for dinner service. The drinks were well poured and the portions were good and priced fairly. They have seafood and classic American menu options. Family friendly. Clean bathrooms. Would come again. Highly recommend the shrimp pesto risotto.
I discovered Union Public House thanks to SkyMiles Dining and Resy. This was a wonderful experience. Great staff, lively atmosphere, and excellent service. Food was delicious and location was easy to find parking across the street. Great location as well. Highly recommended.
This is our neighborhood bar/restaurant. I love it, its a nice place to sit at.
This time, my husband and I took our friends there, three of us ordered fish and chips it was super delicious, and the Po-boy shrimp sandwich, i tried it. It was also great. Its close to our home so we go a lot and we enjoy our time there. And i dont want to forget, the chips was sooooo crunchy and good, really good 10/10.

Had a work event in the bar here recently. Bar staff are outstanding! Atmosphere is great in this vintage building. The alcohol selection is very impressive as well! This place is very much worth trying out is you’re in old town Alexandria! Love it!
We really enjoyed this place. We had the warm steak salad, turkey pot pie, and meatloaf. We also had the chocolate cake and banana bread pudding. All were very good. Service was great. Decor was nice. I would definitely recommend this place. UPDATE: We went back. We had the sliders, pretzel, and wings at happy hour. All were good. We also had the side mac and cheese. It was really good. Shrimp Po Boy was good too. UPDATE: New Year's eve was fun.
