I transferred here from the zoo of Eye and ear infirmary on e. 14st street and 2nd avenue ... What a huge difference... Personnel' is friendly. I had pre Lazer opponents and was in within 5-10 minutes of waitt .. The place is clean, professional and outstanding service by Dr. Marcia Tapper-Rosenberg glaucoma specialist.
Thank you all for great service ????????????
Love this office! The staff are clean, kind and professional. Whenever I come (and I am there pretty early in the AM), there is a staff member sanitizing the staff work and patient areas ... so very commendable!! It is comforting and reassuring to see such internal care. The doctors are EXCELLENT, caring and knowledgeable. I feel safe here. I LOVE the facility, the practice and all the supportive staff within. Kudos to a practice well done and organized!!
Their responding time is terrible. I got a prescription with them for contact but they didn’t fill in a section that’s important, so my contact order can’t be verified & they haven’t been picking up the phone (I called multiple times on different days). One guy who picked up said he was going to call me back but never did! I even self-paid for the entire visit for $200 but that’s the service they offered. Unacceptable!
I don't really want to leave a horrible review but I do want to warn others with binocular vision problems. I came in November 2022 as a patient who has been diagnosed with amblyopia since childhood. The front desk was confused and dismissive as to why I wanted to see an MD instead of just an optometrist, even though I told them about my condition. Once I got an appointment, all the ophthalmologist did was tell me my vision was so bad it wasn't even worth correcting, and then told me getting eye muscle surgery was the only option I had. I tried to speak to my previous experiences with a corrective lens, vision therapy, and so on. No one in this office would hear me out, and I genuinely believe if I continued to seek care here it would've done me more harm than good.
I've since found another eye doctor who was actually willing to treat me as a patient, and my vision in the lazy eye has already improved by almost 3 lines. Maybe they should educate themselves on binocular vision instead of dismissing patients. The fact they continue to contact me about making another appointment is crazy.
This office is excellent in almost all regards. I saw Kelly Armstrong, OD for an updated prescription of my rigid gas permeable (RGP) contact lenses, which are much more complicated to fit than soft contacts. (For that reason, it’s much harder to find optometrists who fit for RGPs.) Over the course of 3 months, she worked with me tirelessly to try to find the best fit and function for my vision (high myopia with astigmatism, along with newer onset presbyopia) and patiently tweaked and adjusted the variables on each set of lenses to try to improve my function and comfort for the next. We tried multifocal, monovision, as well as standard binocular vision lens settings and she was fastidious and thorough each time, listening carefully to how I was seeing and making the adjustments she felt necessary to improve the next pair.
(This was a stark contrast to my experience with a Pearle Vision a year ago, where the customer service was average at best (I’m being very generous) and the final product poor and ultimately proved unusable.)
The office is clean, the reception staff courteous and helpful, their prices fair, their techs efficient and professional, and the customer service is great. I withhold one star only because I frequently had to wait for frustratingly long times, beyond a more reasonable 10-20 minute window. Going every 1-2 weeks for 3 months until a good prescription was finally settled upon, my average wait time was probably 20-30 minutes, but could be as short as 10 and as long as 90. This very wide window made it difficult to schedule appointments when I myself needed to get back to work. But beyond that, I have only the best things to say about Union Square Eye Care and found Dr. Kelly Armstrong, in particular, to be excellent. Highly recommend this office, especially for RGP wearers.
This is a very high class optometrist that accepts most forms of insurance for appointments, but not for making glasses.
I went here and received the most thorough eye check up I have ever gotten here.
The optometrist was very sweet, and made me feel very comfortable. This is a pretty swanky optometrist. If you're in New York and looking for a high class optometrist then look no further!
Plus the location is very close to Union Square so that makes it easy to get to.
But it is on the second level, and you have to take the stairs I believe, but there I'd an elevator that you might be able to use if you're in a wheelchair.
Also it can be hard to miss being on the second floor, and the first floor doesn't look like an optometrist.
Overall I think this is one of the best eye doctors I've ever seen. And I've been wearing glasses or contacts since I was 9 years old. Seeing that I'm 40 now that's saying something! Lol
I’ve been going here for a few years now to see Dr. J..H Wisnicki and from all of my experiences combined I have witnessed nothing, but kindness, courtesy, and respectfulness from the receptionists and my doctor. I know the wait time may be long, but these doctors are specialists and they don’t have a 5 day schedule, therefore waiting is you paying their respect. When you are called the staff and doctors take their time to listen and discuss with you about your visit. The entire team here works together to deliver you a positive experience. I can feel how much they care about their patients. ????
I came to Union sq eye care for an eye exam recently and had a great experience. Dr. Connie Kang was very knowledgeable, patient, and went the extra mile to make sure all of my questions were resolved. Martha and the front desk staff were fantastic and very helpful as well. Will definitely be back again.
