Staying in Bude this week and wanted some good fish n chips and were recommended here. We love fish n chips and have favourites all over the country - the bar was set high.
I was greeted by a very friendly young gentleman who was really helpful. All of our food was cooked fresh and I took it home to my hungry family to eat.
The food was magnificent. The batter was crisp and light. The fish tasty and moist. The curry sauce like it should be. My kids (a tough crowd to say the least) loved it - a review good enough for me.
Thanks guys - great food, well priced and served with a smile and politeness not found in many places.

Went in for large fish and chips, which is what I ordered. While waiting for order. Someone behind counter questioned the person who took my order saying we don't do a large! And told her it's fine I'll do a regular instead!! Whist costing me £12 for a large which you do not do. Picture attached and does not look large at all considering i have been in the food industry for a number of years now, I felt disgusted with the order I received. Will not be returning. No manners from staff and moaning from behind the counter!

Decided to risk it and go back here today. There were closing an hour early than what is advertised on Google.
My partner went in this time as I will get frustrated with them. Asked if they can do a large fish, I can confirm they do not offer large fish as I was told. last time they robbed me blind by charging me for a large fish which they do NOT do. This place take your money for granted and don't offer large fish in the tourist season. BE WARNED.
I can also confirm the food is nice but the portions you get given are not up to standard. As in the picture, two plates straight out of the box and on the plate. MASSIVE ISSUES WITH Chips PORTIONS when both ordered large. This time even though they do not offer a large fish, this one is huge compared to the other picture which was ordered last week. Alot of kids work here so you won't get your gourmet fish and chip shops chefs here.
All in all if the portions size was stable and not different every time, we would return.
Nice fish and chips, the prices have changed a little from what was on previous posts so I took a quick picture, the chips were 2.50 and 3.50 I seem to remember. We had a takeaway order which as I said was good quality, nice large fish, could have had a few more chips, the curry sauce was good and the mushy peas were nice too.
Very friendly, helpful staff. The chips were really good, crisp and well cooked; the fish was really tasty and brilliant crisp not oily batter.
The fish was a medium and although enough not huge and the fillet was very thin. The chips were meant to be a large and I expected to have some leftover but not really that many, I wouldn't have called it large.
So in summary, great taste but definitely go larger than you think if you have an appetite to ensure enough and not do great value having to do that.
Great classic fish and chippy with veg and vegan options! The only downside was that veggie options and sauces were maybe a bit steep but, it was worth it to be able to sit down inside and have a decent selection of filling vegan options. Another plus was the sauces come in a good size and last for your entire meal and you get two veggie sausages in a portion.The large portion of chips also definitely did what it said on the tin. The servers were chipper and the chips were proper. Highly recommend.
Good fish and chips, what made the place was the people working there. Friendly staff with good banter.

Massive regret going to this chip shop today, should got to palace down the road.
I ordered x2 small chips at £2.50 (which were regular may I add) I only small chips.
X2 bartered sausages although t didn’t think the price was bad at the time but to wait 20min. As the server and cook were messing around behind the til.Then for meand my son to open are box to a soggy battered sausage and what looks like to be a scoop of chips. This is a disgrace.
Even new customer weren’t pleased with the cleanliness of the shop either with dirty tables. I won’t be coming here again.
Nice sit in traditional fish and chip shop. Super friendly owner and staff very helpful. Nice touch, slice of lemon on the fish and chips very good. Recommended and will be back.
