Appears to be running a ghost kitchen under several different names on all the delivery apps, all under the 723 8th St NE address. Names include The Egg Drop, Breakfast Beauties, the Breakfast Spot, Eggwich—the list goes on and on.
Made the mistake of ordering from “the Egg Drop” (located at 723 8th St NE, according to Uber Eats) and it was horrid. What I got looked nothing like the advertised photos, which I suspect are AI generated. Wildly deceptive. The food was stale, cold, and flavorless. My sandwich was cooked with plastic in the middle of it.
Complained to Uber and they don’t care. How any of this is legal is beyond me. Beware of ordering from any restaurant listed at this address on any food delivery app. This is extremely unethical and deceptive.
Great live entertainment and awesome food! (Really awesome food!) They boast a fully raised stage with lighting and sound, booths, tables, and 2 levels, a bar and seating on each, plus outdoor seating with clear dividers, heating, and cover. We saw an excellent comedy set hosted by K Bell. I had a Reuben and my friend had the burger and fries. Great portions, perfect and fresh.
The show was very well produced and included six 10 minute comedy acts.
The bar was attentive and fully stocked. Great location-- we even spotted a senator down the street leaving a dinner party!
the food was good but nothing crazy. just note that the “chicken & waffles” is actually a chicken sandwich with two small waffles as the bread. it’s not actual chicken & waffles like how it’s supposed to be with a whole waffle and chicken wings on top/as a side. i get that it might be a twist on the original recipe but that needs to be clearly stated.
it was wrapped up and i almost mistook it for the additional side of waffles i ordered. i took a picture so y’all can see why i was so confused ????
The bartenders are very welcoming! Strong drinks at good prices. Came during karaoke night and had a ball. Good vibes and clearly a local spot because everyone seems to know each other but are happy to welcome you and get to know you.
Best place in DC for food poisoning and skunked beer. Once you become too much of an alcoholic for shenanigans you graduate to this bar. Given all the rats in the kitchen I suspect it’ll be closed soon.
I attended a birthday celebration for my sister. My nephew, along with another JD, played music. The food, drinks, and music were great. The environment and the crowd were very engaging and fun.
Man what a cool bar! Right inside DC. If your looking for karaoke fun this is the place to be. Added bonus Valor Brewery is below The Ugly Mug!
Do not order the boneless wings. A total rip off. They are the nugget balls that you get from the frozen section of the grocery store fried to hard no taste and no seasoning. I order garlic Parmesan they were dry with something sprinkled on top.
