Lovely little site overlooking the river , high on the bank.
Sadly, fenced of but it may not be too hard to enter ???? for a peak inside if sensible.
Absolutely loved it. The path up was a little muddy but also added to the adventure. Amazing history.
Impressive castle, somewhat overshadowed by it's big brother to the East. To access, there is a small car park just off Twizel Bridge. From there, it's a short uphill walk along a mud-track. The castle is in a state of disrepair, and surrounding grounds are used for sheep fields. These sheep currently have small lambs, so suggest not bringing your dog.
Worth a look if you are in the area. There is a path leading up to it near the sign for twizel bridge. The castle is closed off.
Fantastic castle ruins and a lovely walk down to the river. Glad I've been and had a look and will definitely go bakc so I can see the viaduct and walk the river some more
Pretty sweet castle it has a small wire fence up but no signs saying do not enter. The bridge was pretty amazing too car park fits 2 cars at most great little stop between journeys.
This is a brilliant little find, this castle is tucked away nicely just a quarter mile from the little car park/laybay it is surprisingly big and in ok condition, it also has a lovely river running behind it with twizel bridge crossing it, there is some nice little areas to take the children down to the river to have a splash and there is a tree swing to keep them entertained for 5 minutes ????
Sadly, badly signposted and limited car spaces. Fully fenced off and internals all full of bushes and trees. Wouldn't recommend going out of way to visit. Sorry, not usually a negative post person.
